Gavin Newsom's Policies Are Tearing My Family Apart

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following letter, originally published on May 20, 2019, was sent in by a parent who wanted to share with California Gov. Gavin Newsom the heartbreak and damage his policies are causing California’s families. Two years later, the damage and heartbreak have only been exacerbated by Newsom’s illegal, illogical, and unscientific Executive Orders during the coronavirus pandemic, and an unprecedented number of families with children have left the state or plan to, tearing families apart and leaving grandparents heartbroken – not to mention the “brain drain” the state will suffer. For the reasons listed below and the additional damage caused by lockdowns, more than 2.1 million registered voters in the state signed a petition to recall Newsom, and a recall election will be held on September 14, 2021.
