Ebola case  linked to Ebola that remained active in Ebola survivor’s semen

A woman who died of Ebola virus  was  infected by her husband, who she had sex with.  WHO officals said she was infected with ebola through her husband semen.  Her husband survived an Ebola outbreak that ended in June, according to the World Health Organization’s emergency response coordinator in Africa.

“The evidence has grown over the years that Ebola virus can be found in semen beyond three, to even nine months, or even two years in some cases,” said Ngoy Nsenga, the WHO official. “Part of our counseling of ebola survivors is to teach them that sexual activity does carry a risk of ebola transmission, and even to conduct testing on their semen to ascertain whether they are free of ebola virus.”

Texas, New York, Washington and California have resettled roughly a quarter of all refugees so far. Together, these states have taken in nearly 7,500 refugees. Other states that have received at least 1,000 refugees include Kentucky, Ohio, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia and Michigan.

By contrast, Mississippi, the District of Columbia, Delaware and West Virginia have each resettled fewer than 10 refugees. Hawaii and Wyoming have taken in no refugees so far this fiscal year.
