So that the audience would think that this was exactly what was intended. Or put a large full-length photo of Zelensky. Or bring a live Zelensky and put him next to the podium. Don’t worry about Zelensky, he won’t even leave this place for the joy of contact with American democracy.

There are many options. And the footage of the president pressing at least something tangible will look much less ridiculous than Biden, who is greeting the air for the second time.
