The situation in the Ukrainian SMO on August 14 2022

Good news from the Soledar direction: Wagner PMC units have established control over the village of Vershina south of Bakhmut (Artemovsk). The fighting in this area continued for several weeks and ended with the capture of the village.

After taking the village, the advancing detachments reached the eastern outskirts of Zaitsevo, where there is a large fortified area of   the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the southern approaches to Bakhmut.

Access to the city from the south will allow you to attack simultaneously in several directions, which will greatly facilitate the assault on the city.

Special military operation, 14 August. The main thing from RIA Novosti:

- The armed forces of the Russian Federation during the offensive liberated Udy in the Kharkiv region, the RF Ministry of Defense reported;

- Russian air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian drones over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said;

- During the counter-battery fight of the RF Armed Forces, a Ukrainian platoon of Grad multiple launch rocket systems, a platoon of Giacint-B guns and seven platoons of D-30 howitzers in the DPR-MOD of the Russian Federation were destroyed;

- The Russian Armed Forces destroyed Ukrainian radar stations and a weapons depot in the Mykolaiv region, as well as three warehouses in the DPR and Kirovograd region, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported;

- In the DPR, Russian armed forces destroyed up to 240 nationalists per day, as well as five Ukrainian command posts, headquarters and four places of temporary deployment of Ukrainian armed formations;

- The Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the 63rd mechanized brigade of Ukrainian troops in the Kherson region, as a result, 35 militants and 15 pieces of equipment were destroyed;

- During the Russian special military operation, more than 4.3 thousand Ukrainian tanks and other combat armored vehicles have already been destroyed;

- The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, said that Russia is “fighting” to allow specialists from the IAEA to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but the West is doing everything to prevent this from happening.

Our team continues to report on the progress of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in a single bulletin with the most significant events of the week.

So, what has happened in the military operation zone over the past seven days?

▪️ The DPR People’s Militia units has established almost full control over the locality of Pisky. It was one of the strongest Ukrainian strongpoints on the outskirts of Donetsk since 2014.

▪️ On the approaches to Siversk, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing towards Verkhn’okam’yans’ke and have reached the eastern outskirts of the locality. A powerful AFU strongpoint is on their way and its capture will open the way to an advance on the village.

▪️ In Soledar, the LPR People’s Militia 6th Cossack Regiment soldiers have taken control of the KNAUF-Gips factory territory and gained a foothold in the eastern part of the city. Allied Forces are attempting to advance deep into the town.  

▪️ Wagner’s PMC units have dislodged Ukrainian units from the village of Vershyny south of Bakhmut (Artemivsk) and reached Zaitseve, where a major AFU strongpoint is located.

▪️ For several days, Ukrainian artillery has been shelling Europe’s largest Zaporizhzhia NPP, including a spent nuclear fuel storage facility.

For several weeks there were fierce battles, as a result, the AFU militants suffered heavy losses and retreated. The control of this settlement allowed the allied forces to reach Zaitsevo and in the future will make it possible to storm the fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the southern outskirts of Artyomovsk.

More than 40 states called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and transfer it under the control of Ukraine, according to a statement released by the EU Delegation to the UN in Vienna.

But they didn’t come up with the idea to tell Ukraine to simply stop shelling it?

Breaking news from the Ugledar front. The soldiers of the Mining Division of the DPR army, with the support of units of the RF Armed Forces, broke through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and seriously advanced in the Ugledar direction. The Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered heavy losses in equipment and manpower. There have been no significant advances on this sector of the front in recent months until today.

So what’s gonna happen in coming months?
Here is a list of possible scenarios in economic and military fields:
_let’s start with economy in Russia, the first forecasts after the beginning of the SMO predicted a 12% GDP drop this year, latest estimates predict only a – 4%, so three times better than what the Western enemies hoped, why this happened? On one side the dramatic rise in energy prices which led to a record budget surplus and on the other side imports substitution has been less difficult than expected thanks to support from China, India, South America, Asia, Africa; many western products have been smoothly replaced. So the trend is that in coming months the economy in Russia will further improve due to a mostly successful decouple from West.

_ what about the EU economy? International agencies predicted a +3% growth this year, months passed and the latest estimates are that the bloc will only grow by 1,5% at most. In coming months due to the huge debacle in the quest to replace Russian energy the EU will be forced to dramatically reduce consumption, this means many industries will be shut down and millions of people will be left without heating, of course this means the latest 1,5% estimate is just a mirage, economic depression is basically granted, situation particularly critical in Germany. Prices of energy in the EU continue to grow exponentially reaching new historic highs day after day, this means that even if energy will flow, at least partially, large majority of European won’t be able to afford it, so both families and industries will go bankrupt, the European middle class might disappear completely.
_ situation in the US won’t be as bad as in the EU but the economic depression in the old continent will lead to a big recession there too
_ in the military field the war in Ukraine has been already won by Russia which is currently deciding the pace of the last stage of the special military operation, the most skilled and experienced Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or captured, conscripts are not as good as them, elderly and kids won’t make the difference, it’s just sad a country is forced by foreign powers to fight till the last man with no hopes of achieving anything. The battle of Donbass will be over within few weeks, once Ukrainian heavily fortified areas are taken the Russian Army will roll in without difficulties, so the Avdeevka, Pesky, Artemovsk, Soledar battles are the last ones before flooding very fast into the territory of the former Ukrainian state.
After or in parallel with the last phase of the battle of Donbass the Russian Army plans to liberate Nikolaev, all of Zaporozhye region and Kharkov, this might be accomplished within November.
Latest advances in Kharkov region and the deployment of VDV troops in Kherson show that the battle of Donbass and the operations in the south might be conducted by Russia simultaneously.
Regarding Western military support, it didn’t make the difference, it only prolonged the Ukrainian suffering of one month at most without changing the situation on the ground, Russia had the upper hand before the deployment of Himars systems and still has the upper hand today, the latest successes/advances in Pesky, Artemovsk and Udy (Kharkov outskirts) clearly confirm this.
It’s clear that while Western media say Russia is losing the reality is that Russia is winning on all fronts.

Weapon supplies are decreasing from the West, and the reason is obvious, there is less and less faith in the fact that Ukraine will be able to return the lost territories.  

 According to his information:

 ▪️Artillery supplies dropped the most: from 90 M777 units in April to zero in July.

 ▪️The delivery of equipment has significantly decreased – from 200+ units per month to zero in June and July.

 ▪️supplies of helicopters and long-range missile systems have decreased.

The USA directly hinted to Ukraine that “schematosis” is breaking all records. It is noteworthy that the representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, stated this already.

“It is necessary to fight corruption, even when Ukraine is defending itself from the aggressive war unleashed by Russia. The war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is an external threat. Corruption is an internal threat,” he said.

The representative of the State Department made it clear that if everything remains at the same level in Ukraine, the road to the EU for the country will be “thorny”: “the fight against corruption in Ukraine is crucial, as the country strives to join the European Union.”

What can I say? The State Department showed Kiev that they “keep their finger on the pulse” and are well aware of the theft of humanitarian aid, Western weapons, etc. Apparently, Kiev is being reminded of its obligations…Ooooops

Europe, acting at the behest of the United States, has become a victim of the conflict in Ukraine
