It's Unfortunate That Venezuelans Are at the Center of Knee-Jerk Immigration Debate
While much media coverage has been devoted to the immigration issue as Venezuelans are being sent to places like Martha’s Vineyard, on the whole, I think the entire conversation is missing the mark. While I do feel that the point trying to be made by conservatives about communities being overwhelmed with needs for resources, other places not having to share in the implications, and the system not functioning well was made, I also feel it was a step backward for the policy-driven discussions that are requisite. And, I take issue with the lexicon being used, too.
