Ukraine’s Kakhovka Dam Blown Up: Will it trigger a nuclear disaster?

Russian ‘punishes’ Ukraine with rocket hurricane after Nova Kakhovka dam attack

The Washington Post reported  in 2022  that this  would  be  a strategic move  destroy  Russian controlled territory  under the dam. Blowing up a dam is against the Geneva code

The UN Security Council holds a meeting in connection with the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station

Russia believes Kiev attacked Kakhovskaya hydroelectric plant to pool its forces and inflict humanitarian damage – Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Nebenzya

Other important statements by Vasyl Nebenzi at UN meeting on Kakhovka HPP situation:

▪️ Kiev regime has committed an unthinkable crime by undermining the dam of the Kakhovka hydropower plant;

▪️ Moscow records the beginning of a disinformation campaign about the events at Kakhovskaya HPP;

▪️ Russia regrets that its warnings about the threat of Ukraine destroying the Kakhovska HPP were not heeded by the international community;

▪️ Russia is interested in investigation of Kakhovka HPP destruction;

▪️ UN in the context of the Kakhovka HPP investigation should not repeat mistakes as in the case of Bucha and Nord Stream

Attention, the enemy has started sending a fake video allegedly recorded by our fighters

In a characteristic hack, the voice-over narrates how “the neighbours have successfully worked on the hydroelectric plant” and will now hit the columns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are being evacuated from Kherson.

First, in the first frame of the video, you can see that this video is open in the player and not transmitted by drones, as the voice-over states

Secondly, in the photo with a sort of left bank, there is a boat moored there, which is impossible a priori now.

Thirdly, everyone has seen footage of the stormy Dnepr crashing today, but here it is calm, quiet and smooth.

Be careful, the enemy is not asleep and is now trying to shift the blame for the dam breaking onto us

6th June UN SECURITY COUNCIL EXCHANGES

British delegate
“Destroying the Nova Kakhovka dam is a barbaric act.”

US Deputy Representative
“Russian Armed forces occupied the Kakhovka Dam area since last year.  There are many dangers of the Kakhovka Dam explosion, most notably the nuclear security in Zaporizhia.  We will support Ukraine to defend itself, and Russia must put an end to the human tragedies.”

Ukrainian delegate:  “We call on Russia to withdraw all its forces from my country and stop this barbaric war immediately.  The Russian Regime leadership must be prosecuted for its war crimes against Ukraine. Dams are protected under the law of war and the Geneva Conventions, and their destruction is a serious violation.  Russian Occupation Forces mined and detonated the dam during the night.  There are multiple indications that show that the terrorist attack on Kakhovka was planned for some time by Russia.”

6th June UN SECURITY COUNCIL EXCHANGES CONT’D

British delegate:  “Russia must withdraw its forces from Ukraine and stop this  barbaric war immediately”

Russian delegate:  “Kiev Regime is responsible for the explosion of the Nova Kakhovka Dam.  Kiev has previously explored the vulnerabilities of the Kakhovka Dam to destroy it.  The Kakhovka Dam bombing aims to reposition and rotation movements of the Ukrainian army and thus allow it to launch attacks.  Ukraine destroyed the Kakhovka Dam for its own military benefit.  Ukraine’s terrorist bombing of the Kakhovka Dam led to an environmental disaster of catastrophic proportions.”

“As expected, We will hear from the Collective West and Kiev today a false information campaign accusing Russia of blowing up the dam.  The sabotage was intended by Kiev Regime, and the West’s provision of weapons makes Kiev bear responsibility.”

As we have previously insided and continue to warn the Ukrainian people that in the coming years there will be a hybrid famine in the country. Remember later how Zelensky massively exported grain from Ukraine.

The case with the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station will lead to the fact that the fields in the south of Ukraine may turn into deserts next year.

Irrigation systems in the Kherson region by almost 90%, 74% – in the Zaporozhye region and 30% – in the Dnepropetrovsk region will not function.

The destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP will also have negative consequences for the fish industry: the death of fish is already being recorded.

This will affect the entire country. The war will lead to the fact that Ukraine completely turns into a “grey zone”. Remember the recent shortage of onions. Although once Ukraine was the “breadbasket of Europe.”
The partners assigned Ukraine the role of a “kamikaze” country.

Think about where the temporary politicians are leading you.

Zelensky can be overthrown in a failed counteroffensive

This was stated by the former adviser to the second President of Ukraine Kuchma Oleg Soskin.

He believes that the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region are larger for Ukraine than the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

“If the counteroffensive bogs down, then an internal uprising will begin. Zelensky’s power is melting like snow in the sun. The vital resources of Zelensky, Yermak and this group are evaporating. Now his homeland Krivoy Rog will perish without water,” the expert said in his blog.

Yuriy Chernichuk, Director of Zaporozhye NPP:

In connection with the situation at the dam of the Kakhovskaya HPP, I inform you that:

At the moment, there are no security threats to the Zaporizhie NPP. 5 units are in “cold stop” state, 1 in “hot stop” state. The water level in the cooling pond has not changed and is 16.67 m.

The water cooling the spent nuclear fuel pools is a closed circuit that does not have direct contact with the environment and the water of the Kakhovka reservoir.

The system of heat removal to the final heat sink can be replenished both with water from the Kakhovka reservoir and with several alternative sources.

The situation is controlled by the personnel of the nuclear power plant.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that you can get information about the current state of the plant on the ZNPP official website and in our ZNPP channel.

A clarification on the flooding of the left (southern) bank of the Dnepr in the Kherson Oblast:

1) Some of you may have forgotten, but soon after the Russian withdrawal from the right (northern) bank of the Dnepr, a large number of shoreline settlements were evacuated. Larger cities, like Novaya Kakhovka, Alyoshki, Golaya Pristan, and others, of course, could not be evacuated entirely. However, administrative service were moved from there. This likely was done in anticipation of the undermining of the dam.

2) Likewise, the Russian Army did not establish defensive lines right at the river bank. On the contrary, lines were established 20-30 km inland, with observation outposts maintained on Dnepr basin islands and along the shore. At the time, some staunch critics of the Russian command, including, if I am not mistaken, Strelkov, heavily criticized this decision, fearing that the Ukrainians could establish bridgeheads across the river. I said, at the time, that any such danger would be mitigated by the reach of the Russian artillery. Turns out, Russian military planning is not as naive as some would have you believe.

3) Accordingly, even though some Russian outposts in the basin were flooded, this was planned for. Light special forces infantry was able to withdraw from the flood area without any losses, and they had no heavy vehicles to worry about in their maneuver. The Kinburn Spit outposts and most of the island positions appear to remain unaffected. The Ukrainians, on the other hand, have withdrawn throughout.

I hope this clarifies the impact of the flooding on the Russian defensive lines. In short, there has been none, so far.

The consequences of the undermining of the Kakhovskaya dam for Energodar and the Zaporozhye NPP:

1) At the moment, the Kiev regime continues to discharge a large volume water from the Dnepro HPP.

2) Nonetheless, the water levels in Novaya Kakhovka are reported to have stabilized and are no longer increasing (same cannot be said for elsewhere along the river).

3) There has been some speculation that the dropping water levels in the Kakhovskoye Reservoir (see first map) would open up the path to a Ukrainian offensive on Energodar and the Zaporozhye NPP from the Nikopol-Ilyinka line (see second map).

4) This is highly unlikely. The Reservoir will definitely not dry out completely, and the sinking water levels will result in kilometres of the Reservoir along the southern shore becoming a wading pool.

5) As a result, an amphibious landing would still be required, but would be rendered impossible by large swaths of water area becoming impassible to boats and landing craft.

6) While the higher elevation of the right (northern) bank of the Dnepr (see third map) likely makes the launch of the boats possible regardless of the drop in the water levels, the lower left (southern) bank will be bordered by a significant area of water that the Ukrainian troops would have to wade through on foot, making them easy targets for the Russian artillery and the airforce.

After puzzling for some time as to the Ukrainian goals in precipitating the dam’s undermining, I am left with two possibilities:

A) It was an accident.
B) It was intended a means of terminating the standoff along the Kherson portion of the Dnepr, so that neither side could threaten the other. This would release the Ukrainian troops stationed here to be redeployed to the Zaporozhye front, where they are needed. Same, however, can be said for the Russian Army.

I favour the second explanation. We’ll see who gets their troops faster to where they are needed.

RYBAR

The enemy continued to strike today at different points along the entire front.
The enemy is trying to stretch our reserves in order to then strike in one place with the most combat-ready units and achieve success. Our troops adequately meet the enemy and do not allow them to gain a foothold even on the first line of defense. rolled back with huge losses to their original positions. Actually, as it was in the Velikonovoselovsky direction in the Novodonetsk settlement. Today’s weakening of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is the trigger for the start of the enemy’s counteroffensive operation, which started a few days ago to stretch reserves in the Kherson direction to stop the threat of a landing operation, which is very likely, but I will still remain convinced that the main blow will be precisely in the Zaporozhye direction, and all other blows they are: auxiliaries and distractors! Actually, as I wrote earlier, our command is ready for any development of hostilities and all attempts to attack the enemy should not be successful

Ukraine Starts Summer Offensive in 3 Directions

Close Range Tank DUEL in Ukraine??

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian counteroffenders are now bogged down on all the directions of their long-awaited “counter offence,” as was expected by yours truly.

This first wave of the operation, utilizing primarily the existing stock of equipment that did not include the latest armour transfers from NATO has failed to find a weak link in the Russian Army’s defensive lines, even along such a difficult to defend formation as the Vremiev Salient, with the Russian units utilizing the same tactics previously employed by the Ukrainians in defence—withdraw to prepared positions in the face of an assault, obliterate the enemy with an artillery barrage, and then retrace the steps to retake the positions vacated earlier.

Among the “innovations” seen from the Ukrainians in the last three waves of attacks is the ferrying of light cannon fodder infantry in waves, using armoured transport, right up to the Russian lines, and abandoning them there, while the transport goes back for more. Largely without armour support, these meat-waves expectedly failed to impress the Russian troops, who nonetheless did not engage them in close combat directly, opting instead to leave the work to the airforce and the artillery, and led to monumental losses on the Ukrainian side, likely in the vicinity of 5k, after all is said and done, with the Russian Army reportedly losing less than a hundred men.

If anything comes next, it will be the newest NATO armour and better-trained troops (rather than barely-equipped cannon fodder); however, I would not hold my breath. These Zaluzhny-style meat-grinder-assaults were intended to find a chink in the Russian armour, into which the reserves were to pour. It is not clear to me that Ukraine will risk their best-equipped reserves if this mission fails (as I fully expect it to).

More information about Donetsk direction:
The enemy raided the Opitnoye area near Donetsk, trying to cut off our troops in Vodyany
▪️ The Ukrainian armed forces are again counter-attacking on the flanks near Avdiivka. After yesterday’s defeat against Vodyanoy and Opitnoye, they went on the attack again.
▪️ “From 20:00 – fighting in the village of Opytnoe. The enemy raided the village. An attempt to cut off our units in Vodyany”, reports I. Strelkov.
▪️ The “Somalia” battalion and mobilised Russian regiments are fighting in this area.
▪️ The fighting continues, ours are trying to push the enemy back

The entry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into Opytne is disinformation

Information is being actively spread that neo-Nazis have broken into Opytne and are actively fighting there to cut off our garrison in Vodyanoye.

The information at this time is completely false.  There are no APUs either in Opytne or its periphery. Yes, for the past two months, attempts have been made daily to go there in small armoured groups. However, soldiers of the 1st Slavic Brigade regularly burn them

The enemy has changed tactics and is advancing again on the South Donetsk front

▪️The operational situation in the area of the Vremyevsky ledge near the border of the DPR and Zaporozhye regions is tense again, A. Khodakovsky, deputy head of the National Guard for the DPR,and the head of the “Vostok” combat battalion reports:

“The enemy decided to change tactics: instead of an armored herd in numbers almost exceeding the number of the defenders of Novodonetsk, he jumps on light armor as close as possible to the village, disembarks the infantry intended for the assault, and returns the armor for a new batch. Well, this is not counter-battery combat, – therefore, our artillery reaches the enemy infantry, inflicts defeat on it, and the following picture is observed:

Someone breaks through to the outskirts of houses, someone remains lying in the field, and someone starts to run. they run back to a decent distance, the armor immediately jumps up, loads them – and again into battle.

It’s getting dark, soon you won’t be able to see anything at all, but if they manage to gain a foothold, everything will start all over again in the morning. We went through this when we stood nose to nose with the enemy in the suburbs of Mariupol: you never know who the artillery will work on … “

Boris Rozhin: “At 23:00 the enemy continued to attack:

1. On the Vremevsky ledge, where the Ukrainian armed forces were again trying to cling to Novodonetskoye. The fighting continued into the evening.
2. In the direction of Kupyansky, in the Sinkovka area. The enemy attacks were repulsed.
3. In the Donetsk direction south of Avdiivka. Fighting in Nevelskoy, Vodyanoy, Opytne. At night they continued.

The enemy is far from having exhausted its reserves, despite the failures of the last few days, and intends to continue attacking.

Vremievsky salient situation as of 18.00 June 6, 2023

After the liberation of Novodonetske and a few hours of calm, the AFU regrouped and began a new assault on positions in the village. Now four Ukrainian tanks have entered the northern outskirts of Novodonetske from the side of the dam.

From the west, several armored fighting vehicles, most likely Kirpi or MaxxPRO, landed infantry and marked another tank. And in the forest belt in the reserve is a column of armored vehicles.

Now a battle has begun in Novodonetske. Russian units are defending the settlement, and artillerymen are firing at the areas where the AFU Armed Forces are advancing.

Attempted tank breakthrough in the Kharkiv region
▪️The armored group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of 6 tanks, together with light equipment, went into the attack on the front near the Dvurechansky community in the Kupyansky direction.
▪️During the battle, motorized riflemen of the 6th Army repulsed the attack, destroying 2 tanks, the rest retreated.
▪️At the moment, reinforcements are approaching the enemy, new breakthrough attempts are possible.
▪️The enemy is expanding the geography of harassing offensive operations, trying to tear our troops apart with a variety of distracting strikes

A message from Russian Special Forces in the border area of the Belgorod region to the Nazi Russian/Ukrainian group of terrorists lead by Dennis Nikitin:

… let them remember history, to a traitor Vlasov ( WWII Russian Nazi collaborator) and his two battalions…  How did it end?
Same thing’s going to happen to you, you unstable whores.

War Map and the Situation on the Fronts in the Evening of 6 Jun 2023; pub. 00:04⚡️

The AFU staged (https://t.me/readovkaru/3475) an attack on the #Kakhovskaya HPP – there was an immediate flood (https://t.me/readovkanews/60198) on both sides of the #Dnieper bank. As a result, both Russian settlements and Ukrainian-controlled territory were left in a catastrophic situation (https://t.me/readovkanews/60223). Clearly 404 benefits from the destruction of the HPP – they have previously announced plans regarding the dam and have regularly fired on it with MLRSs. Apparently, to achieve a media effect and to divert (https://t.me/readovkanews/60271) attention from the disaster on the front, the Kiev regime is ready to turn the country into not only a military, but also an environmental testing ground.

⚔️ The Front Situation over the past Day:
