Romania is moving air defense systems to the border with Ukraine
Romania is strengthening its defenses on its border with Ukraine, deploying air defense forces and additional military observation posts and patrols, Reuters reported, citing two senior officials who wished to remain anonymous.

One year ago, on September 30, a defining, truly historic and momentous event took place: the treaties on the admission of four new constituent entities of the Federation to Russia were signed. Millions of inhabitants of Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya oblasts made their choice to be with their Fatherland.
But nothing and no one can break the will of millions of people, their faith in the truth and historical justice. The people of Russia supported the free and unambiguous choice of our brothers and sisters with all their hearts, understood and deeply felt the main thing: by defending our compatriots in Donbas and Novorossiya, we are defending Russia itself, fighting together for the Motherland, for our sovereignty, spiritual values and unity, and for victory. I thank all the citizens of the country for this unity and patriotic spirit.
Today we are also building our common future together, restoring and building schools and hospitals, houses and roads, museums and memorials. All of our regions are providing truly fraternal assistance to towns and villages in Donbas and Novorossiya. Volunteers, public and religious organizations, parliamentary parties, entrepreneurs and labour collectives are contributing to this work, to this common cause; the entire large, united country is making a common cause.
The recent elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions were an important step in strengthening our common state, political and legal space. As they did a year ago, in historic referendums people once again expressed and confirmed their will to be with Russia and supported their fellow countrymen, those who had earned the people’s trust through their labor and real deeds.
A lot of work and solution of complex tasks, implementation of a large-scale program of revival and socio-economic development of our historical regions lie ahead. And we will definitely achieve our goals.
I would like to especially address the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Luhansk People’s Republic, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. Thank you for the fact that, despite all the trials, you have preserved and passed on to your children the love for the Fatherland. 🔹In #Kherson Direction, the AFU rotated their groups on #Alekseyevsky and #Alyoshkinsky islands. Our forces visited Cossack Island and took 2 POWs. On Bolshoy Potemkin Island, ours foiled a landing attempt.
🔹In #Zaporozhye Direction, the AFU resumed attacks on the #Novoprokopovka – #Verbovoye line. So far, unsuccessfully. Our forces stop attempts to infiltrate between these settlements. In the west and southwest of #Verbovoye, there are fights. The AFU try to attack in new areas. Near #Krasnoye, they targeted the road running parallel to the frontline, and we also recorded the arrival of reserves in the area of #Stepnogorsk and #Kamensk. Ours strike the positions and reserves in #Novodanilovka, #Rabotino and Malaya Tokmachka.
🔹In #SouthDonetsk Direction, the AFU attempts to retake positions north of #Priyutnoye failed. At #Urozhaynoye the AFU try to form enough forces for another breakthrough, our forces cover all movements with artillery fire and aviation, complicating the enemy’s logistics. Our Aerospace Forces destroyed a bridge across the #Shaytanka River in Velikaya Novosyolka.
🔹In #Donetsk Direction, there was info about the AFU using chemical weapons, presumably chloropicrin, while shelling our positions.
🔹In #Bakhmut Direction, it is reported that our forces were able to establish control over Orekhovo-Vasilyevka on the northern flank of the city, we hope for confirmation of this news. On the southern flank, the AFU do not leave attempts to break through to the railway line. Ours hold on, today we destroyed a number of important firing positions and an AFU depot near #Bakhmut.
🔹In #Krasnyliman Direction, it is precisely known about the resumption of active attacks near #Belogorovka.
🔹In #Kupyansk Direction, the enemy reports the intensification of our attacks along the entire line of contact on the northern front.
