It could be publicly announced by Joe Biden. A ceasefire and a halt to the ground operation are being prepared for his arrival.
The Kremlin, Ankara, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are ready to act as guarantors in their proposal for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza and humanitarian operations. Iran also supports the proposal, but adds a demand that Israel release all detained women and children. Work on this issue is underway in Abu Dhabi, while the Democratic Party’s envoys in Cairo are working in parallel on a ceasefire.
