As someone who slept nine months in a container, it wasn’t too bad. I had it good compared to the folks in the tents. Of course my container had an air-condition unit (heat and cold) and I was able to build a multi level bed thingy with two by fours to keep my gear over me while I slept.
Couple of things to be mindful of regarding shipping containers. 1. Regulating heat can be a problem. It takes alot of energy to warm in winter and cool in summer. 2. You never know what toxic materials have been shipped in them that you will be exposed to.
