San Diego Residents Take Advantage of Countywide Program Filling Two Phases of Incentives

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2012

In April 2012, San Diego headquartered Sullivan Solar Power launched a countywide incentive program that is designed to reward San Diego homeowners for their commitment to a clean energy future. The San Diego Solar Program initiative has a goal of solidifying San Diego’s position as the solar capital of the nation, with the intention to reach three megawatts of solar capacity committed by residential property owners before December 31, 2012. Sullivan Solar Power announced today that the program has entered into its third and final phase of funding.

“San Diego residents have widely adopted the shared vision for a strong San Diego solar community,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power. “Since the program’s inception, roughly 250 homeowners have signed up to participate, filling the first two phases of incentives.”

The San Diego Solar Program is similar to the California Solar Initiative state rebate program in that the early adopters receive the highest incentives. Currently, a San Diego homeowner can receive a cash-back payment that is equivalent to the state rebate amount at 20 cents per watt; a participant is able to receive up to $1,000. The San Diego Solar Program payment is in addition to the federal tax credit, state rebate, and monthly electric bill savings.

“Residents are seeing the undeniable benefits of this program and it’s exciting to see so many homeowners already on board,” said Sullivan, “The success of this solar program will result in the largest collective deployment of residential solar in the County’s history.”

To learn how to participate in the San Diego Solar Program, a breakfast seminar will be taking place in central San Diego for homeowners on Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. at Sullivan Solar Power Headquarters (8949 Kenamar Dr. Suite 101 San Diego, CA 92121). The presentation will be one hour and inform residents about solar technology, rebates and incentives, case studies and details of the San Diego Solar Program.

RSVP is requested. To reserve your space, call 1-800-SULLIVAN or visit http://www.SanDiegoSolarProgram.org.

About San Diego’s Solar Program

Launched April 2012, this program has been developed to help the San Diego region reach its renewable energy goals. Participants are able to go solar for $0 upfront with a monthly payment equal to or less than current electric bills. In order to encourage residential property owners to go solar, substantial cash-back incentives will be paid to eligible participants. The incentives offered through the San Diego Solar Program are larger than those currently being offered under the California Solar Initiative rebate program. Cash incentives offered through the program will continue to drop until fully exhausted. San Diego’s Solar Program provides incentives on a first come – first served basis, limited to 500 homes, and will expire on December 31, 2012.
