Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay Seeks Successor as CEO Plans Retirement

TAMPA, Fla. – (July 8, 2013) –After 25 years in the nonprofit sector and 4 years at the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay(NLCTB), CEO Grace Armstrong is retiring at the end of 2013. The NLCTB Board of Directors is now searching for a successor to start in the fall. 

“This has been my most rewarding professional experience. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful leaders from our community, and have used my years of experience to teach and guide others,” said Armstrong. “I look forward to retirement in the Charlotte, NC area where my husband and I can be close to our family, but I will miss this community. It has been an honor helping nonprofit organizations fulfill their personal and organizational missions for so many years as CEO of the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay.”

As CEO, Armstrong has led the development of short and long-range plans, raised funds for the organization and championed the work of NLCTB throughout the community. She has also provided guidance and coaching to CEOs of nonprofit organizations on overall strategy and direction relative to fundraising and board engagement. Prior to joining NLCTB, Armstrong was the executive director for two nonprofit organizations, where she doubled the size of both organizations and increased the financial viability and sustainability of the agencies.

She has grown the Nonprofit Leadership Center to be an important regional asset in Tampa Bay,” said NLCTB Founder and Board Member, Sheff Crowder. “While we are sad to see her go, we are looking forward to finding someone that will bring the same drive and passion to continue the growth of the Nonprofit Leadership Center and the organizations we serve.” 

The NLCTB Board of Directors is seeking a new CEO that will continue to expand the health and growth of NLCTB while developing, negotiating and sustaining effective partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, government and educational institutions throughout the Tampa Bay area.
