Airplane crashes at Nevada City Airport

As a normal day progresses at SE Studios with producing music videos and recording, the phone rings. The news comes in that an airplane had just crashed on the runway at the Nevada City Airport located in Grass Valley, CA.  Producer Robbi Spencer grabs the camera and heads out the door to see if help is needed as the airport is approximately only 2 minutes from SE Studios. Producer Robbi Spencer arrives at the airport to find emergency responders already on the scene. The pilot walked away uninjured and no one else was on board. Airport Manager, Lee Ocker describes the aircraft as a 2008 Flight Design Light Sport and also states that on July 2, another pilot also had the same problem, with his airplane going off the runway and that the two incidents are not related. The plane was found in a ditch and upside down just off the west end of the runway. The airport was closed for about an hour after the crash, and briefly in the afternoon while the wreckage was removed.
