Skilled Nurse Melissa Lanza, RN,MS,FNP-BC,to be Published in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Melissa Lanza, RN, MS, FNP-BC, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Registered Nurse with twenty-nine years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in various areas of nursing, particularly family health. Melissa is currently serving patients as a Family Nurse Practitioner at her own private practice, Island Nurse Practitioner in Family Health, PLLC, which she established in 2010 in Staten Island, New York. As a nurse practitioner, she is able to diagnose, treat prescribe, order diagnostic testing and blood work to treat acute conditions and help manage chronic conditions with different types of illness/ diseases. She provides physician services to her patients.  In her practice she specializes in weight loss and wellness.  Furthermore, Melissa teaches nursing students and is also an active lecturer, public speaker, author, and consultant.

Melissa studied at the City University of New York,  College of Staten Island and received her AAS degree in 1992 and her bachelor degree of science in nursing in 1997. She also attended Wagner College and received her master degree of science with a Family Nurse Practitioner major in 2005. Melissa is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by ANCC and Past President of Sigma Theta Tau – The Mu Upsilon Chapter. She is the recipient of two leadership awards from Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and received fom Sigma the the Clinical Practice Award for Excellence.  The New York Senate issued a citation with a certificate of recognition  for Women in Excellence Salute.  The New York State Assembly issued a citation with a certificate of recognition for her book called Experience God’s Presence.

She links her success to the people in her life who believed in her, recognized her gifts and helped her grow. Melissa has also been an active participant in nursing research and has published articles in various nursing journals. She has also authored two books in spirituality, entitled In My Presence and Experience God’s Presence. These books can be used in palliative care, hospice and bereavement to provide spiritual support to caregivers, patients, family members. They can also be used in the nursing curriculum in the nursing programs throughout the USA and world.  She chose a career in nursing because she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and to help others.
