Actor Burt Reynolds Dead at 82, Known for Smokey & The Bandit and Deliverance - Rest In Peace (Video)
R.I.P. Burt Reynolds, underrated as a dramatic actor (Deliverance), underrated as a director (Sharkey’s Machine), but also a rare movie star that seemed to be just having an absolute ball onscreen. Nobody broke frame with a bigger gleam in his eye. “Just watch ol’ Bandit run.”
Burt Reynolds has died at the age of 82, Us Weekly can confirm exclusively.
A source tells Us the actor went into cardiac arrest at a hospital in Florida on Thursday, September 6. His family was by his side.
After starring in TV shows such as Gunsmoke and Dan August, Reynolds rose to fame in the ‘70s for his breakout role as Lewis Medlock in Deliverance. The actor, who has nearly 200 film and TV credits, also starred in multiple successful films including 1974’s The Longest Yard, 1977’s Smokey and the Bandit, 1996’s Striptease and 1997’s Boogie Nights, the latter of which earned him an Oscar nomination.
Reynolds was married to Judy Carne from 1963 to 1965 and Loni Anderson from 1988 to 1993, with whom he shares his adult son Quinton Anderson Reynolds. He previously said ex-girlfriend Sally Field, whom he dated on-off for five years in the ‘70s and ’80s, was the one who got away during a December 2015 interview with Vanity Fair.
“I miss her terribly,” he told magazine at the time. “Even now, it’s hard on me. I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up.”
Reynolds is survived by his son.

He had heart surgery a few years earlier. Doctors told him he’ll have new pipes and be like young again. The same thing they told my father before he died one year later after the surgery.
I looked at his medical bull. It was $75,000 dollars. The doctors were just BS’ng him. Told him early in the morning with this BS’ng when the family wasn’t around.
Yeah, I don’t respect doctors anymore. Bunch of liars, fooled by a bunch of lying teachers, who are fooled by a bunch of lying drug companies, who are then fooled by Wall Street analyst to make their stock go higher who then fool you into buying it over a bunch of dead bodies.
My advice. Don’t do it. Change your diet and lifestyle. Don’t believe them. Look at Burt Reynold and my father who died one year later. And he suffered for it cause they need to BUST your ribcage open. Painfool. They both told them the same thing and promising a new heart of a youth.

he lived a harsh life–lots of drugs,drinking–if you want to live a long,healthy life,eat right,excerise–screw the docs–most are just drug pushers–we did the 2nd smokey,bandit film with reynolds –kinda of a jerk–so was jackie gleason–hal needham the famous director was great–tough guy-and jerry reed was a hoot-sally a sweetie -makin movies is boring other than all the girls! those movie starlets are a blast..for a little while at least–
