By the age of 7 federal law mandated that Native American children were to move into “assimilation” boarding schools where they received very little education, were forced to work, did not see their parents for years, and were lucky to survive the 50% to 60% death rate of the “camp”.

These “schools” were open up until the year of 1996 and managed to decimate the Native American population. A part of history that Canadians and Americans have not learned in school.
