Rapture 2020: Spoiler Alert!

Discussing current events and how they relate to Biblical prophesy. What are some critical signs are pointing to the imminent Rapture of the Church?

Coronavirus, locust swarms, earthquakes, cyclones, floods, mass animal die-offs, global Christian persecution, riots, and huge unexplained explosions… it looks like 2020 is the year that the Bible warned us about. Things are getting scary!

When I first read the Holy Bible, at a very young age, I did not have any guidance or plan. I read the first 2 chapters of Genesis, and then went straight to the last chapter of the last book. I wanted to see how it all turned out!

It was not until much later that I discovered that the last part of the last book in the Bible reads like the close of the story begun in the first part of the first book.

The first words in Genesis are: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (1:1).

Almost the last words in Revelation are: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away… (21 : 1).

Genesis: God called the dry land “earth,” and He called the gathering of the water “seas.” And God saw that it was good. (1 : 10).

Revelation: and the sea no longer existed. (21:1).

Genesis:  God called the light “day,” and He called the darkness “night.”  (1:5).

Revelation: Each day its gates will never close because it will never be night there. (21:25).

Genesis: God made the two great lights—the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night… (1:16).

Revelation:  The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because God’s glory illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb. (21 :23).

Genesis: …but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die. (2:17).

Revelation: He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Death will no longer exist… (21:4).

Genesis: He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish. (3:16).

Revelation: …grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away. (21:4).

Genesis: And He said to Adam, “Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘Do not eat from it’: The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor all the days of your life. (3:17).

Revelation: …and there will no longer be any curse.  (22:3).

Genesis: “No! You will not die,” the serpent said to the woman. “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (3:4-5).

Revelation: The Devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (20:10).

Genesis: The Lord God said, “Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God sent him away from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life. (3:22-24).

Revelation:  The tree of life was on both sides of the river, bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations… (22:2).

Genesis: A river went out from Eden to water the garden. From there it divided and became the source of four rivers. (2:20).

Revelation: Then he showed me the river of living water, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the broad street of the city. (22: 1).

Things are getting scary in 2020… But – Spoiler Alert! – I checked the ending of the Book, and it all works out!

Let’s pray that the 7 blessings in the Book of Revelation apply to us:

The first blessing is found in Revelation 1:3: “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”

The second blessing is found in Revelation 14:13: “Then I heard a voice from heaven say, ‘Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.’” 

The third blessing is found in Revelation 16:15: “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

The fourth blessing is found in Revelation 19:9: “Then the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’” 

The fifth blessing is found in Revelation 20:6: “Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.” 

The sixth blessing is found in Revelation 22:7: “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” 

The seventh blessing is found in Revelation 22:14: “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.”

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

If you are not sure that you are saved, you can accept Christ into your life right now, by praying:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.  I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior.”
