“I have come that they may have life….”

Let us begin:

Each line of the Our Father, each phrase, is dependent on the line before: 

“Our Father”- this destroys the myth of a remote, angry God, ready to do nothing but punish.

“Who art in heaven”

We have a home waiting for us in heaven.

“Hallowed be Thy Name”

Thy name is “Father”
May all souls know it and be saved.

Thus may, 
“Thy kingdom come” 

and in this way
“Thy will be done
“On earth as it is in heaven.”

This means we are fully capable of experiencing heaven on earth. This is what we are praying for.

The next line tells us how to achieve it.

“Give us this day, our daily bread” 
Our daily bread is Jesus.

“And forgive us our trespasses” 
We are forgiven in Jesus.

“As we forgive those who trespass against us “
For Jesus sake.

“And lead us not into temptation”

“Temptations must come”
Says the Lord in the Gospels

But we must not succumb to them .  .. .  that is what this line means,
again, it is through Jesus, our daily bread, that we overcome temptation.

“But deliver us from evil”
ie. the forces of evil that come against us

Again this is dependent on the previous line, for unless we resist temptation, we will be easy prey to the forces of evil.  AMEN  🙏
