The Day Of The Lord Of Host

 ”But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:7-10

 I want to talk about the Day of the Lord, also known as the day of Yahweh and the day of the Lord of host or day of El Sabaoth which means The Mighty One of armies, which is where we obtain the Lord of host.  The New Testament carries forwards the day of the Lord of host in these versus from Peter, as well as in other verses from the apostles to Revelation 19.  Where in Revelation 19 we learn that the day of Yahweh is also the second coming of Christ.  

  Let us first notice that Peter is telling us about the judgment and destruction of ungodly men, where the word perdition means destruction, and hence hence the term “son of perdition” means son of destruction.  And on that note, there are many sons of destruction, just like John tells us that Antichrist are plural rather than singular.  

  Most people interpret this and other scriptures to mean that the earth will be burned in a literal fire, however in the description of the day of the Lord in Malachi 4 we learn that the righteous are hid away as young cattle is stalls, where they grow up and come out after the fiery destruction and judgment of the wicked to leap forth upon their ashes.  And hence there is something here that many people miss when it comes to interpretation of prophecy, wherein some things are allegorical or rather symbolic and hence hidden in parables.  And hence we must look at the parables of Christ as well as all of the scriptures to have things defined for us so that we know what is happening and how.

  “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 4:1-3

  Consider this:

  ”Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be over past. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” Isaiah 26:20-21

  Men tend to not allow the scriptures to define and hence broaden their understanding and vision of things and hence come up with some strange interpretations that do not fit all of the scriptures that depict a prophetic scenario, and so, end times prophecy is a scenario and unfortunately men today have the wrong scenarios because they do not build their understanding upon the Old Testament foundation, which is what New Testament prophecy is built upon.

  Peter tells us that the judgment is for the destruction of the ungodly, and later we will understand that the fire that destroys the earth is a cleansing fire, and this fire is the word of God which is like a fire according to what God told Jeremiah.  When we look closely at Revelation 19 we see that a sword proceeds out of the mouth of Christ at His second coming. And so this sword proceeds His coming which is a word that comes from Him into this world, we can see that this coming word does all of the work of warfare.  And this word will be in the mouths of His messengers He sends.  Remember that He said He would send His messengers?

  “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” Revelation 19:15

  “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10

  We might come to wonder whether in those days coming up to the second coming of Christ whether or not that the word that proceeds from Christ before He returns is made powerful in the mouths of His messengers?  And whether or not that the word will perform the same kinds of works as it did in the days of old? Considering that Yahweh is still the Mighty One of old.  From what the Spirit of the Lord has shown me in His word, this is the case, the word will be demonstrated in power, and will be the same kind of word that Moses and Elijah received and spoke.

  When we consider the topic of the two witnesses in Revelation we see that the word that proceeds out of their mouths is like fire.  I should also say that in allowing the scriptures to define and interpret things these two witnesses are not what people teach and preach they are, but something altogether different and hence men will not recognize it when they see it.  And this itself is a deep topic I have written about elsewhere.

  Jesus tells us in various places that He will send His messengers when it is coming near to the time of His return.  And so, there will be those who speak the truth near to the end of this present age, just before the Day of the Lord.  And He also said that He will send His messengers to gather up His elect which we also understand is the scenario of the scripture that many refer to as the rapture.

  What the day of the Lord appears to be is the day in which the fiery indignation of Yahweh, through the second coming of Christ is poured out upon the world as depicted in Revelations.  Where the works of the wicked along with the wicked are destroyed, and yet the people of Jesus Christ are kept hid and shielded from these judgments. Furthermore when you consider the things that Jesus tells us, it modifies the scenario that men have regarding the rapture, and we will look at this herein further along.

^“And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:9-10

  What is the Testimony of Jesus?  Well it is His words, of which we have four accounts of in the Gospels and this testimony is in us who have read and studied and meditated in His word.  Furthermore in the testimony of Jesus we find that He tells us prophetic things about the future, wherein He defines when things happen, and the order of events in terms of what happens first and then what follows.  And if we pay attention to His words, instead of men’s interpretations we find that Jesus tells us something different then what men teach today about when things will occur, as well as what will occur.

  “So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 12:27-30

  In most modern scenarios, we are told that Christ will come and remove the righteous first and then deal with the wicked to remove them out of the earth, during a time when only the unrighteous and un committed believers in Christ remain under the reign of Antichrist.  However in the words of Jesus He says that the tares are removed first to be bundled and burned, remember Malachi 4 where the righteous are like calves of the stalls that come out to tread upon the ashes of the wicked that were burned?   ”Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them.”  And so notice that these two scriptures agree in the order of things, the righteous are gathered after the wicked are burned.  This same scenario can be seen in Daniel chapters 2 and 7 where the kingdom of God subdues all of the kingdoms of this world and is the only kingdom in the earth to remain which is also an everlasting kingdom.  Hence the righteous remain, while in the scenario of men, the righteous are removed out of the earth while the wicked remain.

  “The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth.” Proverbs 10:30

  Remember that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy, not the testimony of men, and I mean religious men full of interpretations and end times scenarios.  Furthermore men’s teachings regarding the end times do not line up with all of the scriptures and so violate one or more scriptures.  Hence the righteous will never be removed out of the earth leaving the wicked to inhabit it, not even for a little season.  The word of God can not lie neither can it be broken.

  Now in the following prophecy from the testimony of Jesus we see the same order of things regarding the righteous being gathered. I have mark the order of things with an asterixis so you can note when something occurs, whereas in the teachings of men today they do not teach you this.

  “Immediately *after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And *then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. *And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31

  With regards to when these things occur they all occur “after the tribulation of those days.” After the events with the moon and the stars and the powers of the heavens shaken, then the sign of the coming of Christ appears in heaven. And it is after all of these events that He sends His angels to gather up His elect from the four winds. Which we know also as the rapture.

  Men may say “I believe it this way, I was taught this way.” And no matter what you point out in the testimony of Jesus they will lean more to the words of the learned men of their religion than to believe Jesus who is the Word of God in the flesh and also the Chief Prophet.

  I do know that there are those few who will pay more attention to what Jesus says about these matters than what men teach about them and who will understand this in real clear prophecy terms.
 

  ”And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound. Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire: And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.” Isaiah 30:25-28
