Others have noted. Wanted to drop anchor with their take. Could be that, when the lake was HIGHER, a buoy was tied off to it so someone could tie off to the buoy and do some casting for Pike. This was a common sight in Western Ontario, on some of the more remote lakes; some on-shore, others just off-shore… But Yuh never know. I’ve seen some very Strange things Scuba-diving in remote lakes in the Canada Outback–about 60% of the Country. Stacked rock slabs, with partitioned chambers, that appeared to have been constructed… particulatly dynamic, when the last thing I expected to see was something that even remotely resembled Intelligent Design.
