One can prove whether the earth is spherical or flat by measuring a “straight line distance” between 2 points on the surface by utilizing what is called the Great-Circle Distance, Spherical Distance, or the Orthodromic Distance, which takes into account the distance between 2 points on the surface of a sphere. Or you can use common sense like the Greeks did 2300 years ago to realize the earth is a globe. When they sailed south of the equator, they lost sight of the north star that they were using to navigate. They found that they could use the southern cross to navigate in the southern hemisphere, because like the stars in the north rotate around the north pole, the stars in the south rotate around the south pole. It was the southern cross that they used because it is always south and does not move from the east to the west. So when they were sailing to South Africa the southern cross was always there in the sky. The southern cross is also always south of South America and south of Australia. On a flat earth you would need multiple southern crosses in order for it to always be south of the multiple locations on a flat earth. There is only one southern cross and the Greeks realized in order to see it from every location in the south the earth must be a globe.
The idea is to pick a place across the surface of the earth where you can drive to & from, & you know is far enough these 2 distances must be different – a straight line vs a curved line. You can do it yourself, w/o any help from anyone else. Of course there will be a degree of error, since you know the roads are not necessarily flat, & the terrain will vary in height, but if it is far enough, this error will be small enough the 2 distances will still be different, if the earth is indeed a globe, & they’d be the same (or close enough w/in a margin of error) if the earth is flat. You don’t need to make the experiment so difficult you’d need to climb up a mountain or travel across the ocean. For example, you could drive from Florida to Washington state & measure the distance w/ your vehicle, & then check w/ GG earth (provided GG earth is actually giving you the true “Orthodromic Distance”).
Your last line shows the problem. So forget relying on GG earth and tell us how you would do it?

The Earth’s Circumference is 24,901.461 mi (Wikipedia), & the distance between somewhere in Coral Gables & Seattle is 2,729.10 mi, making it only 10.95959791 % of the circumference of the Earth, & roughly 2 % difference in the Euclidean (Straight Line) distance (ESLD). However, as these 2 points’ distance increases, such will this distance increase, & up the Equator, where this ESLD will (or should) match (pretty close) the “diameter” of the Earth. That would be another interesting experiment to consider, but just as another verifiable piece of evidence – as to reconfirm. However, our calculations above conclude w/o a doubt, comparing the the Earth’s “Orthodromic Arc Distance” to the “Euclidean Straight Line Distance”, proves the Earth is a globe.

If you want to duplicate & verify the work yourself, you need to input those locations in DMS (degrees, minutes, seconds) coordinates (which correspond to the Latitude & Longitude coordinates) & the calculator’s link is shown below. The reason you need this extra step, is because the other calculators require these coordinates, which is another mathematical system of locating points.

You aren’t getting it. You cannot use latitude and longitude either, or wikipedia. The whole calculation needs to be done ‘in the field’ with no reliance on any previous so called measurements.
If you people who come up with these ‘brilliant ideas’ actually looked at the FE material you would realise there is likely nothing you can suggest that they haven’t thought about long long ago and all you do is demonstrate ignorance and bias. There are some VERY smart people involved in FE.

Ok, so I watched this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In48q-7dnbA ) but the guy starts, right of the bat, talking about a bridge, & how even though the designers used Orthodromic geometry, but because, as he claims, these distances (i.e., Orthodromic vs Euclidean) are so small, they are negligible (according to him), the design doesn’t make any difference whatsoever. The problem is that this guy is not an engineer, or a civil engineer for that matter, & doesn’t understand the complexity & forces involved in designing a bridge to make that “stupid” suggestion. Any bridge that is poorly designed will fracture & even collapse if it’s resonance frequency is not taken into consideration. However, I’ll be happy to check out 1 good link you might provide.

So rather than relying on some video to tell me what to believe, or what is right or wrong, I took it upon myself to think about it, & figure out how can this dilemma be proven right or wrong,… & math doesn’t lie. And thank you for pushing me to do the work & figure it out.
Lets suppose they have model of globe earth and every calculator and every public measurement is based upon that model. Nor can we use GPS. Because who can actually go and measure such distances themselves. So we need an entirely independent way to measure. For example a canal that is long enough and a laser.

To be clear, I am not trying to prove flat earth of globe earth. I am attempting to get people to examine the FE theory (the real one not the fake flat earth society BS), so that when they comment it is from a position of knowledge of what they commenting on, instead of guesswork of what they think it is all about.

There are plenty of people lying. That is the problem. Your ‘discuss the best argument’ is somewhat unfair imo. It’s like asking me to show one proof of adrenochrome, or one proof of the NWO, or one proof of God, or one proof NASA lies, etc. This is a big subject with many angles and many things to consider. One video showing glitches on the ISS is a potential equipment malfunction. 20 become circumstantial evidence. Add photoshopped planets and galaxies and the case builds. Add strange astronaut anomoly’s and moon landing fakery and we start to draw working conclusions. And so it goes on.
The answers require a knowledge of the subjects to even begin to discuss them properly otherwise every time you give someone some information it only begets further questions which is why we must all do our homework. Add to that I looked into all this years ago, so without going through it all again I haven’t got my finger on the pulse of what is where. There are unanswered questions on the FE side, something they freely admit. This is not a done and dusted, nicely wrapped up finished article. But there are some real mind benders in there I promise you and how our eyes trick us is worth the education alone.

Laser experiments purporting to prove flatness along canals. Amateur rocket photography. I can only leave you with the suggestion that you take one video at a time and wade through that playlist over a number of days. I had to. Once you start to get that there is something seriously going on with all this interest builds considerably. I truly believe the effort is well worth it.

Just to make a point & conclude this experiment/observation – Both Orthodromic & Euclidean math are real, derivable & provable sciences (i.e., “Mathematics, the science of structure, order, & relation that has evolved from elemental practices of counting, measuring, & describing the shapes of objects. It deals with logical reasoning & quantitative calculation”). Just because the GPS system maps across different mapping technologies, including flat maps & the spherical map doesn’t necessarily mean that it has been manipulated or tampered w/. Google maps & Google Earth “should be” a somewhat close (or even at times a perfect) match to the Orthodromic distance calculations or actual measurements. When you drive across the continent, for a good enough distance, where there should be enough curvature to become significant, your “travel distance” is going to be either the Orthodromic distance, or the Euclidean distance. If they happen to be the same (or close to), then this would prove that there is no curvature. So, if the “actual travel distance” closely matches both the Euclidean & the Orthodromic distances , then this would prove that there is no curvature – at least in theory, since this would be a mathematical impossibility on a curved surface for long enough distances. However, if the “actual travel distance”, as measured by the traveler closely matches the Orthodromic calculated distance, & this distance also happens to closely match the Google calculated distance, which it should, & the Euclidean calculated distance happens to be smaller than the traveled, measured & calculated Orthodromic distance, then we would know w/ a high degree of certainty, that there is an “spherical curvature” on the surface of the Earth, & thus the Earth is a globe. And this is just a logical conclusion that does no require anything else.
