The Importance of Repentance.

No one enters into heaven who is not perfect.

How can we reach perfection if we do not remove our faults?

Although “love covers a multitude of sins” sometimes our sins, unforgiven even in our distant past are the barrier to the love that we are capable of. If we just call them to mind and repent of them by being sorry for them, then and there this expression of repentance if it is sincere will always be accepted by God. We will be healed then and there and we will feel good about ourselves. We will feel whole, often for the first time in a long time.

Christ came to bring repentance for sin.

Do not let his death be in vain for you by holding back from repentance.

Our calling is to forgive others and this we do in faith.

When we pray for the salvation of souls we are really praying for their repentance.

There can be no forgiveness unless we repent. Love itself expresses repentance because it is the opposite of sin.

It is also the sum total of obeying the Commandments, remembering when we break one we break them all.

They are a whole and we cannot be faithful to them piecemeal.

Remember too they are sealed with the blood of Christ on our behalf who is our intermediary with the Fathers justice.

Always plead the blood of Christ over our sins and they will be forgiven.

 Christ wants nothing more than to forgive our sins but he is rendered powerless by our lack of repentance.

It is the blood of Christ which will lead us to repentance for he has born their punishment in his own flesh for each and every one of us and we are made free by his suffering when we allow it to move us to repentance.

For those who die but do not yet merit heaven or hell there is biblically speaking a place of purification.

The actual verse is quite clear on that; “You will not come out of there I tell you till every penny has been paid”

Thus Christ likens it to a debtors prison where our debt is unrepented sin.

How much more worthy then to repent now and not only avoid hell but this purification. The ominous sound of that quote is that it could last a very long time.

The Holy Spirit is a spirit of love. Invite Him into your life and He will change you with your “yes” into a new man/woman in Christ. Amen.
