God's Name is not Lord and the Lord's Name is Not God: How We Hallow His Name & Why It's Important
Summary: The 3rd Commandment (Exodus 20:7) was intended to protect God’s name, but when translators removed His name and replaced the four letters called the tetragrammaton, with LORD in all caps, They took His name in vain (made it empty as they made it into a generic title). Elijah turned Israel back to the true God. His name by the best evidence dating to Josephus in 70 AD, says “it consists of four vowels.”
Why is God’s name important now? ”The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the…day of the LORD, and it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Joel 2:31,32. The timing for the eclipses is this spring.
The sun will be darkened in a “rare” solar eclipse with a supermoon on the equinox, March 20. A full lunar eclipse will give a “blood moon” two weeks later on Passover. These dates fit Exodus 12:2,7 when God designated the new moon in the spring as the beginning of the year (His calendar, not Pope Gregory’s. Israel put blood on their doorpost on Passover when God is giving a blood moon this spring.
But God also “executed judgment” in Exodus 12:12—will He do so this year? One clue would be a peace accord or treaty like the White House is pushing with Iran. “When they shall say ‘Peace and safety,’ sudden destruction comes,” 1Thessalonians 5:1-6.
And whoever calls on God’s name can be spared, but what is His name? Josephus gives us a major clue. He describes the high priest’s golden crown, “in which was engraven the sacred name [of God]…It consists of four vowels,” Wars of the Jews, Book 5, Chapter 5, Section 7.
Some say those letters are consonants, but a renowned Hebrew textbook says, “Long before the introduction of vowel-signs, it was felt that the main vowel-sounds should be indicated in writing, and so the three letters, yothe, hay, waw, were used to represent long vowels.” A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew, Weingreen, Oxford University Press, 1959, p. 7-8.
Some modern authorities agree. “The letters of the Name of God in Hebrew are yod, hay, vav, and hay. They are frequently mispronounced Yahveh…[but] they are all vowels.” Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, The Book of Words, Jewish Lights Publ, p. 27.
Consonants [like b, d, k, or m] are made by obstruction of air flow. God’s name has no obstruction like our names or characters have. His name and His character are all flow and melody. Vowels are the essential part of any pronounceable word.
We use the vowels of God’s name in every word we speak or write—we wouldn’t have any intelligible words without vowels. God lets us use the vowels of His name in every word we speak!
The Hebrew word for praise is Hallel, and HallelUIA is an international word meaning praise to God (IAUA) for those are the vowels of His name in which the “I” has the international “ee” sound, A is pronounced ah and the U is pronounced oo.
The short form of God’s name is IA as some of the prophets had that ending to their name. There was no “J” in Hebrew. Elijah was really El-IA which means my Elohim (God) is IA. WHy on earth would a Christian need to go to a jewish Rabbi for anything . .
The only people I can find that Yahweh (God does have a name) made the promise of preservation to was the physical seed i.e., descendants, of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel. Genesis 15:5; 17:2-8;22: 15-18; 26:3-5.

Yahweh, as Christ, came to fulfill the promises made to the fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel. Luke 1:67-74. “I have not come but for the lost sheep of the house of Israel,” Matthew 15:24.
Paul and the apostles then preached the gospel message of Yahweh keeping His promise of a New Covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, writing His law upon the hearts of His People, Israel. Jeremiah 31:31-34.
Paul was the messenger to those Israelites that left Egypt prior to the Exodus w/Moses and the giving of the Law at Mt. Sinai. Paul was also the ambassador for Christ to those Israelites that did not return to Judah after the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities, but instead migrated north and west, around the Black Sea into Galatia, Macedonia and Corinth (Greece).
These Israelites, the Nations, are referred to by Paul as the “uncircumcised.” Peter was accused, along with Barnabas, of hypocrisy because they would not eat with those of the Nations, for fear of what the Judaeans would think. This is the reason for the confrontation between Paul and Peter recorded in Galatians. 2:11-16. Paul goes on to explain that Israelites are not saved by the rituals of the law, that is, circumcision, but through faith in Yahshua Christ. Galatians 2:16.
Some Christians point to this passage to support throwing the entire Old Testament Mosaic Law out the window. “We’re not under law, but under grace. The Old Testament was Law, the New Testament is Grace.” However, Paul is not talking about the entire OT Law in Ga. 2, only the rituals of that law, one of which was circumcision. Christ Himself told us what to think when it came to the Law. He said: Think NOT, that I came to destroy the Law or the prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Matthew 5:17. How much plainer can it be said? Then why do so many think that the entire law was abolished, destroyed, done away with, in direct contradiction to what Christ said?
More confusion results when readers don’t know that Gentile is a Latin word, and should not be in an English translation of the bible. Ethnos is the original Greek word Paul used in Galatians 2:12 and 14 and should be translated Nations, as in Israelite Nations, not Gentiles, or “non-jews,” as the judeo-christian cultists like Chuck Baldwin would have us believe.

There are those who like to say everything changed after the cross, after the resurrection. Those same people will proclaim “God doesn’t change; He is the same yesterday, today and forever,” but throw that teaching out the window when confronted with passages that clearly state that it was to the Israelites, and the Israelites only, that Christ came.
Readers of Scripture need to cease from bringing preconceived ideas into Scripture. Instead, they need to use exegesis to understand what the passages under study say, and then form their understanding of what Scripture teaches, not the other way around.

Christ said, “Many will say Lord, Lord…and I will say, I never knew you.” Matthew 7:22,23. The Greek word is ginosko and it means an intimate knowing as in marriage. Marriage is a covenant relationship, but that’s also what Israel had and why God only “knew” them. But He was not exclusion. His covenant and laws were intended to make Israel a huge success by putting them at the crossroads of the nations so that as trade routes came through Jerusalem, merchants could see, not a greedy people, but a kind loving people who were generous and who shut down their business on the Sabbath to include “the stranger within thy gates” as they were invited to share in the Sabbath, indeed so as He told Abraham, “In thee shall all people of the earth be blessed.” Sadly now it applies to few except the Messiah who came to live the law and show us what it means. And He was not exclusive.

Good for you for being so involved in ministry as to deliver some from evil spirits that struggle for the mastery in every human soul. Some who yield in areas of alcohol, drugs, sex or appetite may become literally possessed and unable to be free without help, and while some have found deliverance in the Hebrew name of Y’shua, others as yourself have appreciated God’s deliverance using the name of Jesus.
When Paul discovered an idol to the unknown God in Athens, he wanted to share Him with the Athenians and he said, “the times of this ignorance God winked at, but now commands all men every where to repent” in the context of a time of judgment. Acts 17:30,31. We are coming to that time of judgment when He will no longer wink and we must go by the best information we have.
There is no “J” letter or sound in Hebrew nor in Greek. The original King James Bible had the Savior’s name as Iesous and it was pronounced Yea Zeus! In Latin America, they pronounce His name as Hey Zeus. We say Gee Zus.
But Zeus was the savior god of Greek mythology who saved everyone with no need of repentance. That’s a myth.
Christ said, “I am come in my Father’s name and you receive me not. If another shall come in his own name, hijm you will receive.” John 5:43. At some point in the near future, I believe, based on that text, that Satan will personate Jesus and work miracles and deceive “nearly the very elect” by doing the things the Savior did on earth, and the clearest clue to his identity will be his name. God will not allow him to use His name, Isaiah 42:8.

The name of the biblical deity, YHWH is/was the name of the local protecting deity of a small region in Judea called YHW. It was taken up by King David when he destroyed and captured it. But their usual mode of operation was usually to destroy all trace of such local protecting deities. Their thinking was based on competition, in that their deity had beaten the local protecting deity in battle and was therefore inferior. But in this particular case King David was impressed with the deity and took up worship of it. The Israelites were polytheistic not monotheistic. You are thinking of the Pharisees aka Jews. YAHWEH-SHAMMAH: “The Lord Is There” (Ezekiel 48:35) – the name ascribed to Jerusalem and the Temple there, indicating that the once-departed glory of the Lord (Ezekiel 8—11) had returned (Ezekiel 44:1-4).
YAHWEH-SABAOTH: “The Lord of Hosts” (Isaiah 1:24; Psalm 46:7) – Hosts means “hordes,” both of angels and of men. He is Lord of the host of heaven and of the inhabitants of the earth, of Jews and Gentiles, of rich and poor, master and slave. The name is expressive of the majesty, power, and authority of God and shows that He is able to accomplish what He determines to do.
EL ELYON: “Most High” (Deuteronomy 26:19) – derived from the Hebrew root for “go up” or “ascend,” so the implication is of that which is the very highest. El Elyon denotes exaltation and speaks of absolute right to lordship.
EL ROI: “God of Seeing” (Genesis 16:13) – the name ascribed to God by Hagar, alone and desperate in the wilderness after being driven out by Sarah (Genesis 16:1-14). When Hagar met the Angel of the Lord, she realized she had seen God Himself in a theophany. She also realized that El Roi saw her in her distress and testified that He is a God who lives and sees all.
EL-OLAM: “Everlasting God” (Psalm 90:1-3) – God’s nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time, and He contains within Himself the very cause of time itself. “From everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
EL-GIBHOR: “Mighty God” (Isaiah 9:6) – the name describing the Messiah, Christ Jesus, in this prophetic portion of Isaiah. As a powerful and mighty warrior, the Messiah, the Mighty God, will accomplish the destruction of God’s enemies and rule with a rod of iron (Revelation 19:15).
El is singular and masculine. Elohim is plural and feminine. El of the Elohim is an ancient Semite (Arabic) totemic based story about the Sun and Earth.
“El (the balanced solar deity) was out hunting one day, (shining his light) when he came across two female goddesses, Asherah and Rhomera, (dusk and dawn). He cooked them a meal, (provided the right ingredients for sustenance, ie heat) and asked them if they would prefer to remain his daughters, (dusk and dawn are the products of sunlight on Earth), or become his wives, (produce life). For centuries, Hebrew high priest plenipotentiaries longed to be told God’s actual Name but this datum was withheld, and will only be revealed to the blessed saved at the Wedding Feast of the Divine Lamb after the Last Judgment at the end of time.

You are right, Elohim is the plural form of El [God] and if you visit http://GodsName1stSeal.wordpress.com you can see a brief discussion of the tetragrammaton [four letters] as initials — the yod, hey and vav representing the Father, Spirit and Son. but there’s more to this than “Trinity,” a foundational Catholic doctrine that they base many beliefs on
Elohim means “plurality of majesty.” It is not the plural form of God. Just as the number one cannot have a plural form, the Name of God cannot have a plural form, because God is One. The Holy Trinity is not composed of three gods. It is Three Divine Persons sharing One Co-equal Divine Nature.
Perhaps you missed the point of my post — I was disparaging your misguided “scholarship.” And as for Pix (Pox), she has no scholarship whatsoever because her mind is warped by lesbianism which cannot see beyond the flesh — i.e., spiritual blindness.

I can’t believe GOOD people all over the world struggle to peck out an existence and somebody pays you ( ” IN retirement” ) to write books about which made up name is the correct one for made up God. If you are going to promote silly superstitious creation mythologies, at least have the courage to use the first one ever written, the Enuma Elish. We can then debunk this myth as a primitive attempt to explain a series of natural events, ultimately borrowed/stolen/modified by scared, hungry HUMANS and move on to the more important task of respecting the triumph of mankind in our evolution as thinking beings. All myths which came after can then be dismissed without further need for argument.

These beings (the giant humanoid gods, male & female) were declared as ‘their makers”, and, in “their image” Sumerians were made on a “smaller” scale.
Sumerians were genetically made specifically to mine gold for the giant humanoid gods, male & female, that were present with them physically.
