Lies of The Roman Catholic Church - Part V; The Blasphemy of the Priesthood

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The wickedness and evil of the concepts of priests and an earthly priesthood are so abominable that my soul cringes to even discuss these creations of the Roman Catholic Church.  The priests of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) are conceptions of ungodly men, who determined that Christ was not enough, that His sacrifice was not sufficient, that His role as our Priest cannot be accessed without them.

When Christ was crucified, when He gave up the ghost, the veil between the Holy of Holies was torn in two.  (Matt. 27:50-51)  Under the old covenant, only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies behind the veil to offer the sacrifice for the sins of the people, which he did once every year.  (Ex.26:31-34;  Heb. 9:7)   The holiest place in the tabernacle was not available to any but the High Priest.

The curtain (veil) which separated the most holy place from the rest of the tabernacle was about 60 feet high and about 30 feet wide and 4 inches thick.  (Based upon the replica of the wilderness tabernacle in the Jerusalem temple.)  It was of fine linen, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with cherubim embroidered upon it.  It was very heavy.  This veil was not a thin scarf as women wear.

Heb. 9:8, “The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:” (KJV)

When the veil was torn, it was torn from top to bottom.  Human hands did not tear this veil, but the action came from above, from the Most High.  The tearing of the veil signified the removal of the barrier of sin between God and the people.  When Jesus took the sins of the world upon Himself, when He became the sacrifice for all of us, He restored the way back to God.

Christ’s sacrifice was the restoration of the spiritual covenant with God, because now the people could come to God through Jesus Christ.  For all of those who have put on Christ by being buried into His sacrifice, they can now go to the Heavenly Father through prayer in the name of Jesus.  Christ is now our intercessor with the Most High.  (Rom. 8:34)

Heb 2:17, “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Heb. 6:20, “Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb 8:1-2, “ 1Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;  A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.”

Heb 9:11-12, 11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;  12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

Heb 9:14-15, 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”

Heb 10:19-21, 19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,  20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;  21 And having an high priest over the house of God;”

Matt. 28″18, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Heb 7:15-24,  “15And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,  16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.  17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.  18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.  19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.  20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:  21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.  23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.”

The RCC set up an earthly priesthood in the face of all of the above scripture.  Jesus’ sacrifice abolished forever the earthly priesthood of the Old Covenant, and He thereby became our priest and intercessor with our Heavenly Father after the order of Melchisedec whom Abraham had paid a tenth of his spoils.  The Levitical priesthood established by God under the old covenant was insufficient as they could not continue “by reason of death”.  They were men, prone to sin, who died.  They couldn’t be priests under the new living, everlasting covenant established by Christ’s blood!  His blood, being better than that of calves and goats, was the propitiation for all sins for all time for those who answer the call of the gospel of Christ.  Are we to look to any other than Christ for the remission of our sins?  NO!

God forbid it!  And, yet earthly men, in all their machinations, in all their imaginings thought better than God, and spurned the blood of Christ, spurned his everlasting priesthood after the order of Melchisedec, to establish an earthly priesthood and teach people they had to confess their sins in private to an earthly man in order to obtain remission of their sins.  They have spit upon Christ; they have spit upon the cross, by substituting another priesthood have usurped the authority of Christ and His office.

Did a priest of the RCC die for you on the cross?  NO!  As a child of God, a Christian, you have direct access to the Heavenly Father through Christ.  All prayer is to be offered in the name of Christ, as He is our intercessor with the Father.  Do you not know that as a Christian you are of the royal priesthood?

1 Pet. 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Why then would you believe that you have to allow an earthly priest to intercede for you?  The RCC has lied to the people and told them that these earthly priests are necessary to represent Christ.  They set up a system of works to control their subjects.  Hail Mary’s, Rosaries, and any other penitence they devise are not of God!

Consequences of this lie, other than the blasphemy?

1.  Confession is to be public. (James 5:16) When made privately to a man who is prone to sin there are temptations that may result in blackmail.  How many powerful men and  women have been conscripted into the Catholic Church, and through private confession have become subject to threats by the RCC?

2.  Worshipping idols.  Prayers to St. Christopher, or St. Michael, or any other “Saint” established by the RCC is idolatry.

Saints are Christians.  Every soul that is immersed in water (baptized) into Christ has put on Christ, is covered by the blood of Christ, and is a saint.  Lower case “s”.    The RCC has made a habit of venerating  certain souls above others, and have called the “Saints”, with a capital “S”.  This contradicts Biblical instruction, and have caused these people to become idols, instructing their members to pray to these “Saints”.

Eph. 5:3, “ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;”

Eph. 5:5, “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Eph. 4:11-12, “11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”

3.  Respecter of Persons.  We are not to call any Rabbi, Father, or Master, as only we have only one director.

Matt. 23:8-12, 8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.  And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.  10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.  11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.  12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

4. They have established a system of works.  Say three Hail Mary’s.  Do ten Rosaries.  Or any other act the RCC priest may deem necessary for the forgiveness of your sin.

Gal. 2:16, ”  having known also that a man is not declared righteous by works of law,…”

Rom.  9:31-32, 31and Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, at a law of righteousness did not arrive;  32 wherefore? because — not by faith, but as by works of law; for they did stumble at the stone of stumbling”

If the works under the old covenant, under the law of Moses could not forgive the sins of the people (Heb. 10 6-8), why would anyone think that a Hail Mary would be any way better?  Any works that we do are works of debt, as we are indebted to Christ for our salvation.  (Rom. 8:12) They are not able to work away our sin.  You cannot pay for your sin!  We cannot give Christ anything that He does not already have!  The RCC has set up payments for sin and thereby denies Christ’s payment, and His propitiation for all.  They are spitting upon His death on the cross!

5. The RCC has a allowed sin to abound.  They have established a system whereby people now believe they can knowingly sin, and then, through confession to an RCC priest, be forgiven through the works assigned by that priest.  This result is hideous, abominable.  It has allowed people to conclude that they can commit murder, knowing it is wrong, because they believe that all they have to do is confess it to an RCC priest, and he will arrange their forgiveness!

Rom. 6:6, ” Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Rom. 6:15, ” What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.”

Heb 10:26, ”  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,”

Forgiveness comes after repentance.  The blood of Christ will continue to wash us if we are repentant.  Repentance means that we have been truly sorrowful, and have determined to not ever do that wrong again. Repentance is a reversal, a complete turning away from, and turning back to God.  It is a change of mind and heart.  Those who knowingly repeat sinful acts are not repentant.  Christ’s blood will not wash away the sins of the unrepentant heart.  And yet the RCC promotes that very thing.

1 Tim. 2:5, ” For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;“

It is Christ alone that intercedes for us, and He alone who forgives!  See Rom. 8:34, John 14:6, Heb. 7:25, 1 John 2:1, Mark 2:10, Eph 1:7.  The RCC priest cannot forgive your sins!

I could go on, but these are sufficient to show the apostasy, blasphemy, and lies of the priesthood established by the Roman Catholic Church.  They are not teaching the word of God.  They are not practicing the word of God.  They have devolved into a pagan and idolatrous organization, and thus have no authority from God.

The Unbloody Sacrifice of the Mass

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the Church’s greatest prayer. In it, Jesus Christ becomes present and offers Himself in love to the Father as He did on the Cross almost 2,000 years ago.

Although the Sacrifice of the Mass and Jesus’ Sacrifice on Calvary are the SAME, there are important DIFFERENCES in these two actions of Christ. On the Cross, Our Lord offered Himself in a BLOODY MANNER; whereas, in the Holy Mass, He offers Himself in an UNBLOODY MANNER. This in no way implies that Jesus’ Blood is no longer present in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It simply means that Jesus chooses to act in a different way at Mass than He did on the Cross.

Source: Catholic Truth for Youth, by Father Robert J. Fox, Published by Ave Maria Institute, Copyright 1978, Washington, N.J. 07882, ISBN: 09265429, Lesson 12, The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, page 121.

From section #9 of John Paul II’s letter Dominicae Cenae:

All who participate with faith in the Eucharist become aware that it is a “sacrifice,” that is to say, a “consecrated Offering.” For the bread and wine presented at the altar and accompanied by the devotion and the spiritual sacrifices of the participants are finally consecrated, so as to become truly, really and substantially Christ’s own body that is given up and His blood that is shed. Thus, by virtue of the consecration, the species of bread and wine re-present (50) in a sacramental, unbloody manner the bloody propitiatory sacrifice offered by Him on the cross to His Father for the salvation of the world.

Source: Pope John Paul II, letter Dominicae Cenae – On the Mystery and Worship of the Eucharist, February 24, 1980.

The book of Hebrews, chapters 7, 9 and 10, cited above, make it quite clear that Christ only offered Himself as a sacrifice once, and that sacrifice was finished at the cross. He need not offer Himself in sacrifice on a daily basis, yet in absolute contradiction to scripture, this is exactly what Catholic Truth for Youth and John Paul II, cited above, are claiming happens at the Catholic Mass.

From the new Vatican’s Catechism of the Catholic Church:

1365 Because it is a memorial of Christ’s Passover, the Eucharist is also a sacrifice. The Sacrificial character of the Eucharist is manifested in the very words of institution: “This is my body which is given for you” and “This cup which is poured out for you is the New Covenant in my blood.” [185] In the Eucharist Christ gives us the very body which he gave up for us on the cross, the very blood which he “poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” [186]

1366 The Eucharist is thus a sacrifice because it re-presents (makes present) the sacrifice of the cross, because it is its memorial and because it applies the fruit:

[Christ], our Lord and God, was once and for all to offer himself to God the Father by his death on the altar of the cross, to accomplish there an everlasting redemption. But because his priesthood was not to end with his death, at the Last Supper “on the night when he was betrayed,” [he wanted] to leave his beloved spouse the Church a visible sacrifice (as the nature of man demands) by which the bloody sacrifice which he was to accomplish one for all on the cross would be re-presented, its memory perpetuated until the end of the world, and its salutary power be applied to the forgiveness of the sins we daily commit. [187]

1367 The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice. “The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different.” “In this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner.” [188]

      185 Lk 22:19-20.
      186 Mt 26:28
      187 Council of Trent (1562): DS 1740; cf. 1 Cor 11:23; Heb 7:24,27.
188 Council of Trent (1562): DS 1743; cf. Heb 9:14,27.

Please notice above that in paragraph 1365 of the Vatican Catechism it is declared that the Eucharist is a sacrifice, and in paragraph 1367 the Eucharist is described as an unbloody sacrifice? Did we not establish in the fourth chapter of Genesis that “unbloody sacrifices” like that of Cain are unacceptable to God? And 1366-1367 claim the Mass re-presents Christ as a sacrifice, which the book of Hebrews, cited above, specifically and absolutely denies.

…A big problem people have with the the truth of the Gospel, Christians especially, is the concept of spiritual vs. physical existence. This is how the RCC has become what she is…by NOT delineating between the two.
Our time here has always been a temporary situation….earthly life has never been the end-all and be-all of humanity. Our fate has always been to die….from birth to grave, the story has never been altered. That paradigm is the exact reason Jesus Christ assumed the role of sacrificial lamb, and freed us by way of His resurrection, from the power of the devil…spiritual death.
Christians live in the covenant of the promise of eternal life…..spiritual life. The human body and identification with it ends at the moment of death. Only spiritual qualities, malicious or beneficial, go on from here.
Praying to (worshiping) dead humans (Saints) is blasphemous.

      • Wretched Infidel

The Real Messiah, (that is, the one revealed to us by the Scriptures which make up ‘the Bible’)

NEVER had anything to do with the Eucharist. Or the Catholic Church. Or any Solar Deity worship religion.

That is Jesus, Hesus, Esus, Iaso, Iesu, Isus, Iesous, who is, as proven by the priesthood and the doctrine of this God and the worship rituals of the Churches (both Catholic AND Protestant) IS A SOLAR DEITY SAVIOUR-FIGURE.

The COUNTERFEIT saviour, born at the Solstice or soon thereafter, the celebration of the birth, conceived at Ishtar, the fertility rites of Ishtar, (pronounced Easter) his MOTHER, 9+ months before.

Great fun, this sex domination religion of ‘love’ won’t you agree? GREAT FUN, FUN FOR ALL.

Children too! Wow. Sex and Children, such a Satanic combo.

…Infidel….insightful and partially relevant, comment. the scenario you present is part and parcel of two different heresies, neither of which gained much ground anywhere but in the catholic theosophy. as usual, you miss the point and take the easy route to vent your hatred.

The Lord’s evening meal, the bread and wine, was initiated by Jesus at his last meal with his apostles, and they were holy spirit annointed, by his Father, through him. He said to do this to memorialize his death. He was speaking only to the annointed apostles present, meaning that only holy spirit annointed ones may perform such a memorial. The RCC does it every week, and anyone doing such is committing a very serious sin, since it’s to be done once a year on Nisan 14 at sundown. And, none of the membership of the RCC is holy spirit annointed. Not a single one of them has the slightest chance of being saved. Think of the many hundreds of millions the church has deceived in this way. It’s astounding. Remember, Satan is misleading the entire inhabited Earth.

The 2000 year old Catholic Understanding is correct.

That 19th century johnny-come-lately Seventh Day Adventist understanding is incorrect. Ellen B White was a soothsayer which is forbidden in the old testament. You have been misled Amminadab.

Keep making an effort to understand the 2000 year-old Catholic and Eastern Orthodox liturgy, and you will eventually get it.

Yes there is only one sacrifice as stated in Hebrews but as seen in the book of revelation it is a perpetual sacrifice, see description of the lamb there. Of course God is not suffering anew as it is an unbloodied sacrifice, re-presented. Christ said “this IS my body” and “do this in memory of me”, hence the apostles and their successors (the Catholic and Orthodox bishops) have been doing so ever since as commanded by Christ.

There is no such book called “the vatican Catechism”

        • they.pierced.My.hands.and.My.feet.

“The RCC has a allowed sin to abound.  They have established a system whereby people now believe they can knowingly sin, and then, through confession to an RCC priest, be forgiven through the works assigned by that priest.”

They tried to pull the same scam on people and God in the past:
“But whereas ye have trusted in lying words, whereby ye shall not be profited; and ye murder, and commit adultery, and steal, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and are gone after strange gods whom ye know not, so that it is evil with you; yet have ye come, and stood before me in the house, whereon my name is called, and ye have said, We have refrained from doing all these abominations.” Jeremiah 8:10

LostandFound, hi, can you note one place where Y’shua promoted a New Covenant priesthood ?
Or, Gina, do you know of one place ?
          Thanks.

          • Gina

Are you asking if the New Testament / Covenant ever authorized offices of priests for earthly men? Never. 1Tim 2:5 as quoted above makes it clear that Jesus, as the perfect unblemished sacrifice, is the only one that mediates between man and God. The other quotes are also quite clear that only Jesus was suited to the office of High Priest, as only Jesus took on the sins of the world to reconcile us to God, and only Jesus would serve that role, as earthly men are sinful, and die. God abolished the need for earthly priests through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior. The restoration of the spiritual covenant is intended to be a direct access to the Most High by Christ.

John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. “

            • qaneh-bosem honestyherb

Thanks Gina, never occurred to me that He really didn’t say anything about priesthood, in other records either that i remember, except in the pharisee context.

You have quite a religion there…human sacrifice, drinking blood, eating flesh. Maybe you should take a break and question what side am I serving?

Seducing Spirits and Doctrines of Demons

      1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
      1 Tim 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Tim 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats*, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

As should be obvious, this passage is a warning to the church near the end of time. It gives quite distinct characteristics of apostasy to look for, that will distinguish corrupted Christianity. Just who is it talking about? Let me present some evidence-

      FORBIDDING TO MARRY

The following canons are quoted from the CODEX IURIS CANONICI, the current Code of Canon Law of the Roman Catholic Church, copyright 1983, by Libreria Editrice Vaticana, Vatican City-

Can. 277 – § 1. Cleric are obliged to observe perfect and perpetual continence for the sake of the kingdom of heaven, and therefore are obliged to observe celibacy, which is a special gift of God, by which sacred ministers can adhere more easily to Christ with an undivided heart and can more freely dedicate themselves to the service of God and mankind.

Can 1037 – An unmarried candidate for the permanent diaconate and a candidate for the presbyterate is not to be admitted to the order of diaconate unless in a prescribed rite he has assumed publicly before God and the Church the obligation of celibacy or professed perpetual vows in a religious institute.

Can 1087 – Persons who are in holy orders invalidly attempt marriage.

Can 1088 – Persons who are bound by a public perpetual vow of chastity in a religious institute invalidly attempt marriage.

      COMMANDING TO ABSTAIN FROM MEATS

*Meats: From Strong’s Greek Dictionary- word G1033. broma, bro’-mah; from the base of G977; food (lit. or fig.), espec. (cer.) articles allowed or forbidden by the Jewish law:–meat, victuals.

The word translated meats in 1 Tim 4:3 actually means foods in a generic sense, not just animal flesh, so this passage speaks in the broadest sense of commanding fasting.

Can. 1249 – All members of the Christian faithful in their own way are bound to do penance in virtue of divine law; in order that all may be joined in a common observance of penance, penitential days are prescribed in which the Christian faithful in a special way pray, exercise works of piety and charity, and deny themselves by fulfilling their responsibilities more faithfully and especially by observing fast and abstinence according to the norm of the following canons.

Can. 1250 – All Fridays through the year and the time of Lent are penitential days and times throughout the universal Church.

Can 1251 – Abstinence from eating meat or another food according to the prescriptions of the conference of bishops is to be observed on Fridays throughout the year unless they are solemnities; abstinence and fast are to be observed on Ash Wednesday and on the Friday of the Passion and Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Can 1252 – All persons who have completed their fourteenth year are bound by the law of abstinence; all adults are bound by the law of fast up to the beginning of their sixtieth year. Nevertheless, pastors and parents are to see to it that minors who are not bound by the law of fast and abstinence are educated in an authentic sense of penance.

Here you will find listed the Precepts of the Catholic Church which are considered obligatory laws, in the new Vatican’s Catechism, paragraphs 2041-2043. The fifth precept deals with abstinence from meat and fasting.

      CONCLUSION

I know of no other Christian church to which these characteristics can be applied with such ease, other than the Roman Catholic Church. I would therefore state that it is the subject of Paul’s warning in 1 Timothy chapter 4. To those who think me too critical, or devisive, or hurtful, then please read verse 6-

1 Tim 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

What Christian does not believe that to be a worthy goal?

      DOCTRINES OF DEVILS

From Catholic Truth for Youth, page 67-

In front of the palm of Our Lady’s right hand was a heart encircled with thorns which pierced it. We understand that this was the Immaculate Heart of Mary, outraged by the sins of humanity, and that she wanted reparation.

Page 86- Mary had only ONE Child and that Child was Jesus. Thus, she was and remains the ever-virgin Mother of Our Lord and Savior. After her Divine Son, Mary enjoys the highest place in the Church because she did God’s will perfectly and never committed the slightest sin. She was even exempt from original sin, which all the other children of Adam inherit. When she died, Mary’s body and soul were taken to heaven. (This is what is meant by the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.) From her beautiful throne, the Mother of God continues to love and pray for all her children still living on earth.

Page 89- When Pope Paul VI announced that a Golden Rose would be sent to the Sanctuary at Fatima, he also stated that he intended to entrust the entire human race to the care of the Mother of God.

From the booklet Questions and Answers about Mary, by Anthony M. Buono, published by Liguori Publications, copyright 1993, and bearing the IMPRIMI POTEST, and IMPRIMATUR of the Roman Catholic Church, page 9-

      6. How is Mary our intercessor?

Mary is our intercessor because in heaven she continues to intercede with her Son, Jesus, for us in the world.

She is our intercessor because of the following reasons: (1) As worthy Mother of God and full of grace, she occupies a middle position between God and his creatures. (2) Together with Christ and under him, she cooperated in the reconciliation of God and mankind while she was still on earth. (3) Now from heaven she distributes the graces that God bestows on his children.

Of course, this intercession is always secondary and subject to Christ’s primary and self-sufficient intercessory role. All favors granted by God to his rational creatures are granted in virtue of and because of Mary’s intercession. It is not necessary that we explicitly implore her intercessions in our prayers. But whether we mention her or not, it is through her that we receive whatever we receive.

      Note the following verses-

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

      1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

      11. Why does the Church render liturgical devotion to Mary?

The Church renders liturgical devotion to Mary because Mary is joined by an inseparable bond to the saving work of her Son, which is made present in the liturgy.

The liturgy make present Christ’s paschal mystery (his life, death, and resurrection), enabling us to render fitting worship to God and to obtain the graces of Christ gained for all human beings. It is only right to show liturgical devotion to Mary, since she is joined inescapably to the saving work being represented.

Though there are many other false doctrines taught by the Catholic Church, I have focused only on the Catholic doctrines regarding Mary, because the Bible speaks plainly about the the state of the dead, and says nothing about Mary being taken to heaven.

Mary remains in the grave, quite dead, hearing nothing, interceding for no one. Catholic teaching on this matter is quite foreign to scripture, and rests on nothing but Catholic Tradition. It is the most prevalent, and most dangerous form of idolatry and spiritualism to infiltrate the Church. It is plainly AntiChrist.

        How is Mary our intercessor?

I’m going to go ahead and guess you can pray to the Father but you can not blaspheme against the Holy Ghost OR EVEN ADDRESS IT. And you address the Father in imitation of Christ (“Our father…”, “Oh Abba!” not “Oh me!”). Mary as your intercessor through the Holy Ghost with Christ gives you the only CATHOLIC (universal) communion access to the person of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost) you can have.

SHE IS YOUR INTERCESSOR …WITH CHRIST.

Otherwise you should ONLY be praying to the FATHER.

They’re fiendish like that. The Catholics.

It is just bigotry to not recognize the sincere (fallible) concern of Catholics about praying directly to Christ rather than the wedded parent he prayed to.

Should we pray to the Holy Spirit?—No, we are told to pray to God, and we are also told we can pray to Jesus. But we are never told to pray to the Holy Spirit. This is because it is His work to move on our hearts to repent, pray to God, and seek guidance, help, and answers to specific needs and emergencies.

Should we pray for the Holy Spirit?—Yes, we earnestly need to pray for help from the Holy Spirit! But it is urgent that we pray in the proper way, in a manner which agrees with God’s Inspired Writings—or we could encounter serious problems.

The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives—In preparation for this study, I came across these important passages. Here are principles we should know and things we should pray for, as we seek for the promised blessing of the Spirit:

God will never turn away prayer for the Holy Spirit’s guidance (MB 132), for God’s people need the special guidance of the Holy Spirit (LS 438). We are, by constant prayer, to seek for that guidance (5T 243).

The Holy Spirit’s presence is given to those who wait humbly upon God (GW 285). He strengthens our hope and gives us assurance (6T 415; PK 660). He is given as our counselor, sanctifier, guide, and witness (AA 49). He guides us out of our perplexities (ML 290). He is given without measure to every follower of Christ, when the whole heart is surrendered for His indwelling (MB 21).

As we pray, the Holy Spirit gives us genuine sorrow for sin (DA 300), so we will confess and forsake it. The Holy Spirit is given to keep believers from sinning (DA 311). As we cooperate, He is given to enable us to overcome all hereditary and environmental tendencies to evil (DA 671). God strengthens His people by the Holy Spirit so they can do His will (PK 487). The Holy Spirit works in us so that we may work out our own salvation (4BC 1167; MYP 147). He purifies our hearts (PK 660; 8T 19). He enables us to control our appetites and passions (CT 20). An entire transformation of character may be wrought within us by the Holy Spirit (6BC 1117).

God will not hear our prayers if we regard iniquity in our hearts (PP 584; 1T 214). It is urgent that the voice of the Holy Spirit be distinguished from the voice of the enemy (TM 393). Yet the willful commission of sin silences the voice of the Holy Spirit within us (GC 472; MYP 114). A continual refusal to repent is the most common manifestation of the sin against the Holy Spirit (DA 324; 5 BC 1093).

When we study God’s Word, we should pray for the enlightenment of the Spirit (TM 108). The Holy Spirit will help us understand the Bible better (AA 44; 3BC 1152; SC 91). Those who prayerful study God’s Word receive the Holy Spirit to guide them (COL 36). The work of the Holy Spirit is always in harmony with the Word of God (AA 284).

The Holy Spirit brings God’s Word to our remembrance (CSW 41), teaches us how to ask for the things we need (CH 380). and guides us into all truth (AA 51). He transforms hearts and characters (LS 323). The Holy Spirit is provided to aid us in giving the Gospel message (6T 244), and convict souls of sin (Ev 283). As we seek Him, He endows us with special strength for our work (GW 286), and helps us in every difficulty (PK 660; 6T 415).

The Holy Spirit enables us to present the truth (AA 51) and reach men’s hearts. He will help us open the treasures of truth to men (COL 59). He gives language and utterance to God’s servants (TM 405).

God does not need any man to direct the work of the Holy Spirit (TM 484), and man should not try to do it (CT 360; FE 436). Do not seek to bring God into conformity to your wishes (2T 149).

I think that the idea is hierarchy. The reason given by Catholics for praying to intercessors of all kinds is that they will take your prayers to the higher ups.

“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

What you just attempted is exactly what the Roman Gentile church had done for 1900 years, pervert the truth with faulty so called logic.

That is exactly how they justified changing the 7 Day Sabbath to the 1st day, Changing Passover to easter and even the day it is to be observed and it goes on and on like idols to icons which are OK say the priest that ‘instruct’ the altar boys.

The Word of God and logic destroys the pagan doctrine of the universal church but those born into it have been programmed since birth.

        PRAYERS OF SAINTS
Here we see the elders presenting prayers (prayers of the saints)
        Revelation 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

        Revelation 8:4
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

        MARRIAGE
Many CAtholic priests marry. In the Roman rite they currently do not, but this is not Church doctrine, only discipline which means it can change. It follows St Paul’s advice:
“To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I am. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame with passion” (1 Cor 7:8-9). The same conclusion in 1 Cor 27-34 and 1 Cor 38
        And Jesus’ own words:
Not all can accept this word, but only those to whom it is granted. Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so; some, because they were made so by others; some, because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the kingdom of God. Whoever can accept this ought to accept it” (Matt. 19:11–12)

Your understanding of this is also off significantly.

It is also worth noting that Catholics also call the pope “Holy Father”, when there is only one use of that phrase in all of scripture, in reference to God the Father:

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

    • Amminadab

This has to be one of the easiest “doctrines of devils” to expose. Scripture makes it so easy! Notice the following…

Matthew 18:15-20 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

      The conditions are…

#1 “…if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.”
#2 “…take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established”
#3 “…And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: ”

Three conditions that are NOT met by simply stepping into a “confessional”. The Bible is plain here. When a person is in sin you kindly bring it to their attention. If they agree and repent, they have been “loosed” from their sin. If they ignore you the next step is to let them know that more than ONE person has noticed their sin and that they are concerened for them. Still, if they ignore you, bring it to their church family. If after seeing that their entire church family is in agreement that they are in sin. Then it is obvious that they have decided not to be part of the church family and are deciding to live in sin. Then and only then are we authorized by God to “bind” them in the sin they have chosen.

So often the verse # 18 is the only verse used to acknowledge the authority of the Priest in confession. However, when you read the ENTIRE series of verses above, and below this verse, the TRUTH is made clear. I pray wholeheartedly that ALL Catholics get used to going to their Bibles before and after they ask a Priest for advice. This is what will open their eyes.

For those that need additional facts and ways to explain this truth. See this excerpt…
“The keys of the kingdom of heaven” are the words of Christ. All the words of Holy Scripture are His, and are here included. These words have power to open and to shut heaven. They declare the conditions upon which men are received or rejected. Thus the work of those who preach God’s word is a savor of life unto life or of death unto death. Theirs is a mission weighted with eternal results.
The Saviour did not commit the work of the gospel to Peter individually. At a later time, repeating the words that were spoken to Peter, He applied them directly to the church. And the same in substance was spoken also to the twelve as representatives of the body of believers. If Jesus had delegated any special authority to one of the disciples above the others, we should not find them so often contending as to who should be the greatest. They would have submitted to the wish of their Master, and honored the one whom He had chosen.
Instead of appointing one to be their head, Christ said to the disciples, “Be not ye called Rabbi;” “neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.” Matt. 23:8, 10.
“The head of every man is Christ.” God, who put all things under the Saviour’s feet, “gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.” 1 Cor. 11:3; Eph. 1:22, 23. The church is built upon Christ as its foundation; it is to obey Christ as its head. It is not to depend upon man, or be controlled by man. Many claim that a position of trust in the church gives them authority to dictate what other men shall believe and what they shall do. This claim God does not sanction. The Saviour declares, “All ye are brethren.” All are exposed to temptation, and are liable to error. Upon no finite being can we depend for guidance. The Rock of faith is the living presence of Christ in the church. Upon this the weakest may depend, and those who think themselves the strongest will prove to be the weakest, unless they make Christ their efficiency. “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm.” The Lord “is the Rock, His work is perfect.” “Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” Jer. 17:5; Deut. 32:4; Ps. 2:12. -Desire of Ages pp 413 & 414

If peter was “the greatest” as Rome assumes regarding Matthew 16:18,19.. Why was this penned…

Matthew 18:1, “At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

If Jesus chose Peter as “the greatest” back in Matthew 18, why are the apostles still askign who is the greatest two chapters into the future in Matthew 18? Jesus never gave the apostles power to remove any sin. There is a method by which we can “know” the sinner is unrepentant, and therefore “bound” by that fact. That is in Matthew 18:15-20 as I shared at the beginning of this page. The “keys of the Kingdom” are the Scriptures. In that holy book are all that’s needed to bind and loose! Truth is truth!

Worship belongs to the Creator, not His creation. Paul tells us in Romans 1:25 that there will be those “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Is not the wafer a creation? Even if it is broken down into its base elements, the molecules within the wafer were created by an Almighty and Ever Living Creator God.

By the way, if Jesus really did literally turn the wine into His blood, then explain this…

Matthew 26:28-29, “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

In verse 28 Jesus declares the wine His blood, and the very next verse has Jesus declaring it the fruit of the vine. Biblical proof, Jesus was speaking symbolically.

To give you an idea of just how far this “turning the wafer into God” has gone. See here the actual wordds of the Catholic church in regards to this act…

“…we find in obediance to the words of his priests – Hoc est Corpus Meum – God Himself descends on the altar, that he comes whenever they call Him; and as often as they call Him, and places Himself in their hands, even though they should be His enemies. And after having come, he remains, entirely at their disposal; they move Him as they please, from one place to another; they may, if they wish, shut Him up in the tabernacle, expose Him on the altar, or carry Him outside the church; they may, if they choose, eat His flesh, and give Him for the food of others. ;Oh how great is their power!’ -The Dignity of the priesthood by Liguori p. 26,27

“…the power of the priest is the power of the divine person; for the transubstantiation of the bread requires as much power as the creation of the world. …thus the priest may be called the creator of the Creator…” -The diginity of the priesthood, p. 33

The most blunt passage that I have found to date that declares Jesus Christ was NOT speaking “literally” in regards to His “flesh” can be found in John chapter 6.

One more thing to mention. At the last supper “UNLEAVENED” bread was used for a symbol of Christ’s sinless flesh. Had there been leaven in it, it would have represented CORRUPTION in the bread. And as we all know, Christ Jesus NEVER sinned. Therefore, His flesh would not be stained with the corruption of sin.

Matthew 26:17, “Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?”

We also have this confirmed in the Old Testament when they would bring a lamb as a sin offering. It had to be WITHOUT blemish. If it would have had any blemishes it would have represented an imperfect offering. Seeing how they were using lamb’s to signify the perfect “Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world” (John 1:29) An imperfect offering would have meant that in the future Christ would have been imperfect. So, sheep with blemishes were rejected by the priest.

1 Peter 1:19, “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

The reason I am sharing this with you is to illustrate how important the symbolism is in the communion of our Lord. Looking at the Roman Catholic Eucharist with it’s SYMBOLS OF BAAL etched on it portrays a corrupted offering. PLUS, look to the wine they use in the Roman Catholic church as well. It is FERMENTED wine. That means the wine has been allowed to rot so as to ferment and become alcoholic in nature. This wine is the fruit of a corrupted, or “rotten” fruit. Therefore, even the wine they offer in communion in the Roman Catholic church portrays a corrupted offering. BOTH the bread and the wine of the Roman church has evidence of death and corruption within it. Therefore in simplicity, it is an ANTI-Communion of sorts!

To summarize in a few words…
If the Religious leaders claim Jesus IS in the wafer. Then they are IDOL worshippers.

There are two kinds of people, those who realize they have a philosophy/framework they work within, and those who don’t realize this. Christianity has only recently become the soothsayer religion as it is made out to be by many here, an unfortunate by-product of the protestant revolution. Authentic Christianity (CAtholicism) is very liberating because we are hard-wired to have a relationship with our creator.

What will be the next invention? The Roman Church says it never changes; yet, it has done nothing else but invent new doctrines which are contrary to the Bible, and has practiced rites and ceremonies taken bodily from paganism. Some scholar has found that 75% of the rites and ceremonies of the Roman Church are of pagan origin.

Note: Cardinal Newman, in his book, “The Development of the Christian Religion,” admits that … “Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images … are all of pagan origin…” (Page 359).

HERESIES are those doctrines and practices which are contrary to the Bible. They are also called “human traditions” or “doctrines of men”. Both Peter and Paul predicted and warned that in the later times “false teachers” would rise within the Church and bring in “damnable heresies” and “doctrines of devils”. (Read 2nd Peter 2:1-3, and 1st Timothy 3:2-5). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, for they transgressed the commandments of God by keeping their traditions. “in vain,” He said, “they worship me by keeping for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:3,9).

The Word of God commands us to get out of Babylon, saying: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4). All true Christians will remain faithful to the religion of Christ as taught in the Bible, and heed the warning of the Apostle Paul, who said: “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8).

Matthew 23:9 Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One.

Galations 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are plainly seen, and they are sexual immorality, uncleanness, brazen conduct, 20 idolatry, spiritism, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, divisions, sects, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these. I am forewarning you about these things, the same way I already warned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

Matthew 6:7 When praying, do not say the same things over and over again as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words.

2 Corinthians 6:17 “‘Therefore, get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing (idols, idolatry)’”; “‘and I will take you in.’” 18 “‘And I will become a father to you, and you will become sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah, the Almighty.”

The Roman Church was begun in 325 c.e. by the head of all PAGAN religions, the “pontificus maximus” (sound familiar? The pope calls himself that) Emperor Constantine. It was shortly thereafter changed to the Roman Catholic Church. He mixed Christian writings and beliefs (changing them a lot) ad melded them with pagan idols, icons, rituals, traditions, and images. The RCC is at the very least half pagan. God said to “stop touching the unclean thing”, meaning anything pagan. Jesus said to not pray over and over the same thing, like the rosary in the RCC makes one pray. The pope wears a fish head hat, a clearly pagan symbol of one of the pagan gods. Jesus said all clergy were seeking glory for themselves, and not for God. The past several dozen popes have been implicated in Satanic rituals and killings of newborn babies. The current one was convicted in Venezuela of killing over 50,000 children, and has been convicted in Italian courts for many counts of murder and satanic sacrifices, with MANY witnesses testifying to the same. The RCC serves only satan, and works in total opposition to God the Almighty.

Christ did not put a prohibition on the term “father”. So your understanding of Jesus’ words is incorrect.
St Paul refers to himself several times as a father in the faith. The Church follows this practice.

Even Jesus uses the term father:
“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26

so i know he did not put a prohibition on the term father.

The papacy is the antichrist. All of the reformers knew and taught this truth.

So regarding the whoring harlot church, though she claims to be God’s representative on earth, the missing color blue in her description indicates that she defiantly disregards and transgresses the law of God. One of the characteristics of the antichrist power is lawlessness:

[NIV] 2 Th 2:3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

[NIV] 2 Th 2:7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

And, note what the antichrist little horn power tries to change:

Dan 7:25 And he [little horn] shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws [of the most High]: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The only one of the ten commandments of God that deals with time is the sabbath commandment (Exo. 20:8-11), which the Catholic Church claims to have changed, from Saturday the seventh day, to Sunday, the first day of the week:

2175 Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath.

She predicted the end of the world in 1843, 1844, 1845 and 1851.

        She was wrong about everything.

    • Amminadab

For a striking contrast, note how the true church, symbolized by the woman of Revelation 12, is described:

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

THE ULTIMATE FATE OF THE HARLOT DAUGHTER

Lev 21:9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

      Blasphemy

The scriptures give us several examples of blasphemy:

Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Mark 2:6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

John 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

So, a man falsely claiming the power to forgive the sins of men, a man falsely claiming to be God on earth, and men falsely claiming to be the true church of God are all clearly defined as blasphemy. Note the following:

Priests and bishops are, as it were, the interpreters and heralds of God, commissioned in his name to teach mankind the” law of God, and the precepts of a Christian life—they are the representatives of God upon earth. Impossible, therefore, to conceive a more exalted dignity, or functions more sacred. Justly, therefore, are they called not only angels,’ but gods.3 holding, as they do, the place and power and authority of God on earth. But the priesthood, at all times an elevated office, transcends in the New Law all others in dignity. The power of consecrating and offering the body and blood of our Lord and of remitting sin, with which the priesthood of the New Law is invested, is such as cannot be comprehended by the human mind, still less is it equalled by, or assimilated to, any thing on earth.

      The “Mother” Church

The woman of Revelation 17 is the mother church, with apostate daughters:

Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Only the Roman Catholic Church claims to be the “mother” Christian church:

The term Mother Church, however, as applied to Rome, has a special significance as indicating its headship of all churches.

Amminadab, just a note of fair warning…. we differ on our view of Revelation. I will post more in future on the Whore of Babylon, but am not ready to do so yet. Cycles repeat, prophecies had an immediate application, and most also had a future application, future to those to whom they were written. But, I will touch on this more in days to come. Thanks so much for the background info you supply.

        • LostandFound

for the most part Catholics see revelation as the state of affairs late first century when it was written. It is also John’s look at heaven. You will see very many its signs during the Mass.

It is only the past couple hundred years it has ramped up as pure prophesy and soothsaying.

For example Seventh Day Adventists (Amminadab) with their endless predictions of the end of the world. All of these have of course been false prophesies. That should tell you something should it not?

          • Gina

I will address this more in coming posts, but I agree. There are time texts that are very important in the scriptures, but they were twisted by bishops and priests of the Roman Catholic Church. My studies have shown that the RCC is in part responsible for that dispensational futurist view. I don’t believe Amminadab follows the prevailing futurist view of Revelation either.

The church at Rome established by Christians who had either been converted Jews at Pentecost, or those who had received teaching from others who were converted, was trying to worship according to the Apostles teaching and the word of Christ during the first century A.D. But, apostasy crept into that congregation of the saints during the 2nd century A.D., and has grown so deep over the last 18 centuries that it cannot be recognized any longer as a church that Christ established. I am trying to bring that back into focus.

Most Catholics know that God exists, and believe that Jesus is the Son of God. That is an excellent foundation and starting point. They just do not believe any more that they need to learn what the Bible says. And this is because the Popes have lied to the people.

Churches of Christ, churches of God, whatever you wish to name them as examples of the Bible show, are based upon the scriptures of God. They are Bible based and are trying to worship according to Apostolic teachings of the first century, as written in the New Testament. The various bishops and popes of the RCC have convinced people that the Bible is not authoritative, and yet they claim authority from the very people who declared the Bible’s authority as true. Departure from the word of God removes their candlesticks as John warned the 7 churches in Revelation.

Remember that most prophesy of God had an immediate and a future application. If you want to see more about this you can look at the first 10 posts under my contributor link. They all build upon each other, so I encourage you to go through them all. And, I will try to bring more into view as I go.

All those below have different interpretations of the Bible.
However the Catholic Church was founded by Christ. You should listen to Jesus and NOT the people listed below.

1521, Martin Luther started the Lutherans when he broke away from the one true Church that had already existed for 15 centuries. Prior to this time, the false doctrine of “Sola Scriptura”, or “Bible only”, had not existed, and neither had the false man made doctrine of “Individual Interpretation” of Holy Scripture.

1521, Thomas Munzer started Anabaptists by breaking from Lutheranism in the same year.

1534, King Henry VIII started the Church of England. (Anglican)

1536, John Calvin, teaching predestination, formed the Calvinists.

1560, John Knox, who studied under Luther, started Presbyterians.

1582, Congregationalists started by Rob Brown, as a branch from Puritanism.

1609, John Smyth formed the Baptists. They have severely splintered since then.

1739, John Wesley started the Methodists, in a split from Anglicanism.

              1774, Theophilus Lindley started Unitarians.

              1789, Samuel Seabury started Episcopalians.

1793-1809, Churches of Christ had four separate founders.

1830, Joseph Smith founded the Mormons in Palmyra New York.

1860, William Miller, a farmer, started the Adventists.

1863, Ellen Gould White started the Seventh-Day Adventists.

1865, William Booth started the Salvation Army.

1875, New Age was started by Helena Blavatsky.

1879, Mary Baker Eddy started Christian Scientists.

1879, Charles Russell started the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

1895, French Abbe, Alfred Loisy and English Jesuit, George Tyrrell started Modernism.

1900-1920, conservative Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Methodists,

formed a consortium, and started Fundamentalism.

1901, Pentecostalism was started in the United States. It has since split into many independents.

1914, Felix Manalo started Iglesia ni Cristo.

1930, Independent Churches of America (IFCA), was formed by a consortium of churches.

1952, L. Ron Hubbard started the Church of Scientology.

1965, Chuck Smith began Calvary Chapel.

1968, Disciples of Christ, started as a splinter of Churches of Christ.

1974, Ken Gullickson started the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

20th century. Assemblies of GOD, and other splinter Pentecostal groups, are some of hundreds of new sects founded by mere men.

Most of the above give scripture final authority, however they completely disagree on scripture interpretation.

I do not follow what men teach. I am a little familiar with some of the false teachings of some of the men you listed beneath my first reply. I also recognize that their mistakes are the cause of a great deal of discord in the denominational world. And, I may in time address a few of them.

But, do you discount what the Bible says because of their errors?

            • LostandFound

Catholics believe the Bible is inerrant. Above are contradictory interpretations of the Bible. So they can’t all be right.

Jesus did not write a single word of the Bible. He didn’t even tell his followers to write the books of the New Testament.

Jesus founded His Church (Mt 16:18) He told us the gates of hell would not prevail against it. Many people can’t fathom that he would create His Church of Sinners but He did. The doctrine has not changed in 2000 years, when items need to be discussed formally in His Church that is done. We first see that happen in Acts 15, and it has been done ever since. His Church has survived in spite of men.

Gina, regarding your belief in Sola Scriptura, please answer these two questions:

              1. Where in the Bible does it say that everything you need for salvation is in the Bible? Please cite chapter and verse.

              2. By whose authority do you believe that the Bible and its cannon of books is correct? Who told you?

Catholics believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. We always have. We wrote it, put it together, process during Mass holding it above our heads, decided which books to put in and which to omit, died protecting it and find it extremely arrogant that certain people feel the need to twist God’s word to fit their sinful and emotional needs. The Church came first. The Bible was born out of it. That is a historical fact. For once, have the humility, if not to admit you’re wrong, to at least do an honest day’s worth of research. I acknowledge the fact the catholic’s wrote their own bible and came up with there own doctrines because in no way does it resembles the doctrine of Jesus Christ nor follows how He or the Apostles live their lives.

The popes have reverse or reordered every single thing, it truly is the universal gentile religion – one size fits all.

The WAY of Jesus Christ is a very narrow WAY for the tiny flock the Father CALLS to Christ.

And No Christ said “IF they speak not according to the LAW and the Prophets there is no truth in them” — that ms. fotou is speaking of the Old Testament and IT HAS EVERYTHING IN IT NEEDFUL FOR SALVATION.

No one but the catholic’s has the N/T until the printing press and the catholic tried to stop that as well. They want to continue to TELL the masses what to believe.

Christ nor the Apostles ever saw what is today called the New Testament. and when you say the doctrine has not changed in 2000 year please be reminded the Sabbath and easter were changes around 325 AD and it was not until the 4th century the the pagan doctrine of a trinity was accepted by the pope.

The pope is getting ready at this moment to take control of Jerusalem, even construction is underway for that event — now what do you suppose the pope wants Jerusalem for?????

            • CAPTAIN CHAOS!!

              G. K. Fotou asked Gina:

“Where in the Bible does it say that everything you need for salvation is in the Bible? Please cite chapter and verse.”

              If I may intrude:

              2 Timothy 3:15

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

              Ms. Fotou also asked:

“By whose authority do you believe that the Bible and its cannon of books is correct? Who told you?”

The Book of Isaiah did – with its 66 chapters, it is a model of the written Word. The menorah in the Temple (described in the Book of Exodus) likewise foreshadows the 66 Books of Scripture. Ever tally up its constituent parts? The menorah is the light of the Temple. The Scriptures are the light of the world – in written form.

Moreover, God promised to protect His Word:

              Psalms 12:6-7

The Words of the LORD are pure Words; as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times, Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.

“Catholics believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. We always have. We wrote it, put it together…”

Is that so? But your statement is (at the very least) three-fourths untruth. Did a Catholic write Deuteronomy? Did a Catholic write Ezekiel? No. Catholics had no part whatsoever in the authorship of Scripture. Do you think the Apostle Paul was a Catholic? He had a wildly different set of rules from you. How is it that you say he was Catholic? None of the New Testament authors were Catholic. Your entire statement is false.

“…decided which books to put in and which to omit…”

Inasmuch as Constantine’s council was convened to decide which New Testament (only – the Old Testament canon was complete long before anyone was called Catholic) writings were actual Inspired Scripture, they did do the job. But the inconvenient truth remains – the Roman authorities NEVER planned to share with the world what they had collected and vetted. They never intended to share the Scriptures the ‘profane.’ The canon was kept under lock and key, and was to be viewed only by high-level Roman initiates.

“…find it extremely arrogant that certain people feel the need to twist God’s word to fit their sinful and emotional needs.”

Try reading Scripture apart from the so-called ‘sacred teachings’ and ‘sacred tradition’ of your beloved Roman Rite – as you are commanded to do by the Word itself. If you take nothing with you into your exploration of the written Word, the very suggestion that Rome has any honest connection with the Book, in a positive way, becomes patently absurd in record time.

“The Church came first. The Bible was born out of it.”

You actually have your history inverted. Rome agreed on New Testament canon. Rome did not birth the Bible. The Word existed before, and in spite of, the Catholic Church.

“May you learn the Truth soon and have the courage to do something about it!”

Pray for yourself that is precisely what happens for you. And try reading Scripture apart from the lies of Rome. Let the Word do the teaching – and not the men who tell you you’re too ignorant to read for yourself.

The Persecuting Church Drunken on Blood

The woman of Revelation 17 is drunk with the blood of Christian martyrs:

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

      AFRAID WE WILL GET THEM.

No one is more honest with Protestants than we are, for no one knows them better. There is a great deal of controversy now going on as to the attitude of Protestants towards Catholics holding political office. We have published statements from Baptist and Lutheran bodies, and individual declarations from prominent men in all the Protestant sects. They are all agreed on the question. They would not vote for a Catholic for political office, least of all for the presidency of the United States; and they all give the same or similar reasons. Some say it is because Catholics owe their allegiance to the Pope, and therefore they cannot vote for them. Others declare that all Catholics believe in the union of Church and State; and they under no circumstances would vote to give them political power. Others give other reasons; but one and all declare that they would not vote for Catholics, and mostly all for the two reasons given above.
But is there not a reason behind these two reasons which these Protestants are not willing to admit even to themselves? Are not these two reasons too theoretical and entirely too academic for the majority of Protestants? They know very little of the meaning and import of allegiance, civil or ecclesiastic; and they do not know what Catholics understand by the term. They have a very vague and indistinct notion of the union of Church and State, and are not aware that such union exists more or less in every state in Christendom. What they really oppose and what they wish to emphasize by their vote is that they do want want to be dragooned into the Catholic Church. They fear that if the Catholic Church should get the upper hand in this country she might induce the state to suppress all heretical worship and compel all to embrace the Catholic faith. And this fear is not irrational, if unfounded. The Church has persecuted. Only a tyro in church history will deny that. The Apologists in the days of Roman imperial domination inveighed against persecution and with Tertullian deplored that “it was no part of religion to persecute religion.” But after the days of Constantine and under the reign of that first Christian emperor the attitude of Christians underwent a change, and persecution of pagans took place in many places in the empire. A hundred and fifty years after Constantine the Donatists were persecuted and sometimes put to death. Against this extreme measure St. Augustine raised his voice; but he was willing that they should despoiled of their churches and of their goods. Protestants were persecuted in France and and Spain with the full approval of the Church authorities. We have always defended the superventions of the Huguenots and the Spanish Inquisition. Wherever and whenever there is honest Catholicity there will be a clear distinction drawn between truth and error, and Catholicity and all forms of heresy. When she thinks it good to use physical force the Church will use it. She is no better nor holier than God; and God has used physical force to bring people to embrace the truth. If the Church ever again finds herself in the same circumstances as surrounded her in the days of the Donatists and Huguenots and the Moriscoes it is very probable that she will defend herself with the same weapons she used before. But will those conditions ever return? We hope not for the sake of both persecutor and persecuted. The Protestants of the world fear that the history of persecution will repeat itself. If so it will be brought about by themselves. They fear that they will be forced to embrace the Catholic faith. They never will be as long as they allow Catholics to profess their religion in peace. But if they want war they will be promptly accommodated.
But will the Catholic Church give bond that she will not persecute at all? Will she guarantee absolute freedom and equality of all churches and all faiths? The Catholic Church gives no bonds for her good behavior. She has made mistakes in her policy which she promptly corrected as soon as discovered. She has countenanced violence when more human measures would have been of more avail. Her children and her clergy have often been carried away by popular passion. But she gives no bonds that such things shall not occur again.
Why should the Church be required to furnish security of good behavior? Civil governments have been tyrannical. But we must have civil government. The state has oppressed, and kings have abused their power. But we must have the state to maintain order and protect life and property. So it is with the Church; only more so. We must have the Church. She is the means of grace to a lost world. She is salvation to all mankind. Without the state we have anarchy; without the Church we have spiritual chaos. ― Western Watchman, A Catholic Journal Devoted To The Catholic Interests In The West, Vol. XXXXIII ― No. 35, St. Louis, Mo. Well then the Catholics must be the world’s worst conspirators! Despite making up 25% of the population there has never been a full term Catholic president, we all know what happened to the one.

Book of revelation is so rich in imagery that i can make it say whatever i like if you give me a couple of minutes. For example, SDA formed in 1863 which is 1+8 and 6+3 which is 99 which is an inverted 66 etc etc. That’s after 30 seconds of research.. Now if i spent a few days creating a religion based on the book of Revelation imagery with an anti-SDA agenda, then voila! Suddently you are the anti=Christ!

I don’t care what Martin Luther wrote. Who is Martin Luther, someone who destroyed the unity of the only Church founded by Christ.

        Amminadab,

Interesting thing about Luther. He was actually quite the brilliant man. Highly educated, very intelligent, well read and spoken. In the beginning, he even had a very good point; certain corrupt priests and prelates were selling indulgences and taking advantage of ignorant souls by stealing their money. News flash: You can’t sell indulgences and yes, there are immoral and corrupt people within the Church. Always have been, always will be. Have you ever wondered why Christ allowed Judas to stay within the ranks of the apostles? Perhaps it was to give us courage throughout history and to remind us that wolves exist both inside and outside of His Church.

But back to Luther. Hate to burst your bubble but, unfortunately, despite his natural intelligence, he also had a very unnatural obsession with eternity. More specifically, he wanted to know, without any doubt, that he was going to be saved. That is actually what prompted him to rip out seven books of the Bible — they didn’t agree with his new-found theology. I suspect this is why he ended up denouncing the papacy. Did you know he wanted to rip out many more including the Book of Revelation? Fortunately, his followers stopped him in time. Eventually though, his obsession grew into full blown psychosis. In fact, if he lived today, it’s likely he would be in therapy and on some very serious meds. Not to be disgusting but he would actually have “poop” fights with the devil, then command the devil back into his anus while assuming very vulgar poses. Lest you think this is the sick ramblings of a crazy Catholic out for verbal revenge, think again. That is Luther’s own personal testimony written in his own hand. Look it up.

      HISTORICISM

Now if we list and develop the above characteristics of antichrist, the following becomes readily apparent:

      1. It will rise to be a great power after the fall of the pagan Roman empire (after 476 A.D.). See Early Church Fathers on Antichrist.
      2. It will be a geographically small nation (a little horn).
      3. It will rule over many people, nations, and tongues (it will be universal).
      4. It will be headquartered in the city of seven hills, Rome.
      5. It will be a religio-political entity — a political city-state ruled by a priest-king.
      6. Its priest-king will make great and blasphemous claims.
      7. It will claim authority over all kings.
      8. It will claim its power to change the holy times and laws of God as its mark of authority.
      9. It will be an apostate church, that makes the nations drink her cup of apostate doctrine.
      10. It will be a “mother” church, with apostate daughters coming from her.
      11. It will be a persecuting power, killing the faithful saints of Jesus Christ as heretics.
      12. It will hold power and authority for 1260 years following the fall of pagan Rome.
      13. It will suffer a deadly wound that will end 1260 years of dominance and persecution.
      14. It will be revived after the deadly wound, and all the world will wonder at it’s revival.

In this the “Historical” interpretation, the antichrist was clearly not merely a single individual, it was a system of apostasy and persecution that would hold sway for over twelve centuries.

She also bears the name of Mystery. Mystery is the term used by the Roman Catholic Church to refer to the Mass, specifically the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ. It is a key part of Catholic dogma. These are the words of the priest in Latin or English (emphasis is mine):

HIC EST ENIM CALIX SANGUINIS MEI, NOVI ET AETERNI TESTAMENTI: MYSTERIUM FIDEI, QUI PRO VOBIS ET PRO MULTIS EFFUNDETUR IN REMISSIONEM PECCATORUM.

FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL TESTAMENT, THE MYSTERY OF FAITH, WHICH FOR YOU AND FOR MANY SHALL BE SHED UNTO THE REMISSION OF SINS.

She is described in Revelation 17:3 as full of names of blasphemy. How does the Bible define blasphemy? Here is one biblical definition:

Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Mark 2:6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

Only God has the power to forgive you your sins. Yet the Roman Catholic Church claims this power for it’s priests. In addition, for hundreds of years the Roman Catholic Church sold what it called indulgences. By contributing to the church, your sins could be forgiven. Indeed the Vatican itself was built by funds raised in this manner. Indulgences continue today in the form of penance. They claim there are works you can do that bear either partial remittance of sins or plenary (full) remittance of sins. So, with the blessing of the church, you can forgive your own sins by your own actions. As Mark 2:3-5 shows, these are examples of the blasphemy described in Rev 17:3.

      Conclusions Evident with Additional Facts:

The Roman Catholic Church (Papal Rome) is the beast from the sea of Rev 13, the woman of Rev 17 and the Babylon of Rev 18.

The Papacy is the Antichrist of Rev 13, whose number is 666, and he is the little horn of Daniel 7 and 8. His mark of authority is Sunday worship (the mark of the beast).

The Protestant churches derived from the Catholic Church are considered harlots. This is because they still adhere to much of the Catholic inspired false doctrine (like the dead go immediately to heaven or hell) and bear it’s mark of authority (Sunday worship). It can be shown that U.S. based Protestantism is in fact the False Prophet of Revelation, as well as the image to the beast, the beast being Catholicism.

The power behind the Papacy of the Roman Catholic Church is none other than Satan. He first attempted to use Rome to kill the infant Jesus. He also used the Roman empire to try to exterminate the early Christians. This just forced Christianity underground, even in a literal sense, yet it still flourished. So Satan changed tactics and infiltrated the church through Pagan practices and began to persecute those who clung to true doctrine, by using the church itself as the exterminator. This era of papal power began in 538 A.D. and ended in 1798 a period of 1260 years. This is the period referred to as 1260 days, 42 months, and 3 1/2 times in the Bible.

In all this, is there any good news? Yes, most definitely.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Rev 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

It is clear that God has people that are now in Babylon. Everyone still has an opportunity to escape the wrath of God as manifested in the final 7 plagues. But in order to do so, you have to know who and what spiritual Babylon is. You must know the Antichrist and what the mark of the beast is and what the seal of God is. You have to be able to discriminate between true and false doctrine. You do all of this with the Bible. While Roman Catholicism is specifically evident as Babylon in scripture, it is actual broader than that. Spiritual Babylon is really a kind of corrupted religion, not just one denomination. Are you in Babylon? There is still time to get out of spiritual Babylon if you are in it – but it may not last much longer. Can you afford to wait? Would you bet your life (eternal) on it?

Truthseeker, you said “I acknowledge the fact the catholic’s wrote their own bible and came up with there own doctrines because in no way does it resembles the doctrine of Jesus Christ nor follows how He or the Apostles live their lives. The popes have reverse or reordered every single thing, it truly is the universal gentile religion – one size fits all.”

A couple things – (1) how would you even know the “doctrine” of Jesus Christ or how the apostles lived their lives if it wasn’t for the divinely-inspired Bible put together by Catholic Christians? In other words, all we have as testimony comes from the apostles and their immediate followers. After His resurrection, Christ didn’t say, “write a book.” He said, “Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” For the first 300 years of Christianity there was no Bible.

      (2) You state that the popes have reversed or reordered everything single “thing” – whatever “thing” is. Please cite exactly who did what and when. If there is one meticulously-held record, it is the actions and letters of the popes, beginning with St. Peter himself.

Here is the excerpt from a catholic encylopedia

The Catholic Encyclopedia admits the Trinity is not biblical, why do they still teach it?

Catholic authority says that the Trinity “is not . . . directly and immediately [the] word of God.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia.

The Catholic Encyclopedia comments: “In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word τρίας [tri′as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180.” The New Catholic Encyclopedia also says: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the O[ld] T[estament].”
Update : The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) discusses the Trinity at length and admits:

“The Trinitarian dogma is in the last analysis a late 4th-century invention”

The formulation of ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century.”
        End of Quote;

Now here in Hebrews Paul give us the 7 Fundamental and Foundational doctrines of Jesus Christ. I have included two translations.

        Hebrews 6: 1 – 3, NLT

1 “So let us stop going over the – basic teachings –about (from) Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. “

“Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith (trust) in God.”

2 “You don’t need further instruction about baptisms; the laying on of hands; the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.”

3 “And so, God willing, we will move forward to — FURTHER – understanding”. [Becoming mature]

        Hebrews 6: 1 -3, KJV

1 Therefore leaving the principles — of the doctrine of Christ, — let us go on unto perfection; not laying again —the foundation — of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the ‘doctrine’ of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 And this will we do, if God permit.

        Here is the list:

        Repentance
        Faith
        Baptisms
        The laying on of hands
        the resurrection of the DEAD
        eternal judgment
        going on into perfect

I do not believe your church teaches any of these based upon God’s Word, as in everything it does it changes everything to a more gentile pagan style.

Ms. Fotou it would take a very large book to list what the popes have done but just to list a few — they changed the Sabbath and here are a few of your church leaders saying so:

James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., pp. 89.

“But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.”

James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore (1877-1921), in a signed letter.

“Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments?
I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday – for Sunday, the first day? I answer yes . Did Christ change the day’? I answer no!

        “Faithfully yours, J. Card. Gibbons”

        Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174.

“Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

“Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.”

Do you want to continue?? the proof of what the gentile catholic church has corrupted is fully recorded and acknowledged by your cardinals and others.

Just a few more; the word “easter” (the pagan goddess) , which is used in place of Passover was added by your church. The word if you will research in Strongs is correctly rendered Passover.

The word ghost is not correct – it also was added to give more credence to a trinity, the word is spirit or wind.

you call the pope father and even put holy in front of it — Christ said to call no man Father and you folks call an old carnal human man holy father. ONLY GOD IS HOLY ! That is Blasphemy.

I know you can not change your mind, you are in too deep, too committed and it would shake your whole world — but that world is about to be shaken anyway.

Truthseeker, confirming the lie that is the doctrine of the Trinity is actually a lot easier than your post suggests.

Constantine commissioned EUSEBIUS who is responsible for all such changes. We have access to his work before the change was made – lectures he gave and such – which show the Trinitarian verses in their original form.

        Here is truth;

I had a catholic uncle that was a farmer with lots of land, the priest would come once a year and demand the payment they wanted from him — they sat there until they shamed him into handing over the money. I bet God was pleased?

I am friends with an 80 year old Canadian women that is a former catholic, she lived in a very rural area. When an old farmer was dying the priest would come and tell the old fellow ” look if you want to go directly the heaven deed over the farm to the church” — what a great scam!!!!

My CPA use to audit the Catholic church over a large area, his statement was “you have no idea how much money that church has – it is a gigantic amount”. And that is nothing compared to the Trillions the vatican holds in THEIR OWN BANKS.

If you only listen to anti-Catholic bigots you will hear those hearsay stories. I’ve never met a priest who was the least interested in money. There are far easier ways of making money, being a Catholic priest they make very very little. Unlike these evangelical churches where it’s a lucrative family business. However i’m sure there are lots of lousy priests, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is Christ’s Church. As far as the Catholic Church’s bank account, you can tell your CPA to stick to bookkeeping and taxes, because he has no idea what he is talking about in that area. In scripture the apostles had a purse and yes Judas was stealing from it, and i’m sure there are Judases today. But Christ’s Church has well over a billion members and when you compare their bank account to national governments’ banks and control it, it is a tiny per capita of wealth.

First, I doubt you have heard the “Good News” as it is not “about” Christ but is the message He brought which Is — “Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand”. i.e. the government of God is returning to earth.

And yes Christ is the Builder and those God the Father gives Him He will build into a body – HIS body.

But the Body is kept in the Father’s name; They are the SONS of the FATHER and will inherit HIS NAME.

              John 17: 11

“And now I am no more in the world but these are in the world and I come to thee; HOLY FATHER KEEP through thine OWN NAME those whom thou hast given me that they may be ONE as e are.”

Just as an aside there is only ONE HOLY FATHER and it is not the popes.

7 is God’s number of spiritual perfection – look up these scriptures The body of Christ is called The Church of God 7 times.

        • G. K. Fotou Writes

          Truthseeker,

You claim I will have a hard time “justifying the pope and Church” in BIN. Not at all; however, I do believe most BIN members of the Protestant persuation have a problem justifying Truth when they hear it since I never get an answer back to my questions, just more illogical ramblings. I suspect this is because one cannot argue with Truth.

First, you are not defending your point of view; you are simply stating it. While you are correct that the Old Testament was written by the Jews, Christ did not abolish the Hebrew faith, He extended it and brought it to fulfillment through what we call Christianity. That a portion of the Hebrew population never bought into Christ’s message is, for our purposes in this particular discussion, neither here nor there. The point is, the early Church (which still thought of itself as Jewish, by the way but over time, became followers of The Way) took the Hebrew scriptures, decided which canons or books to include in the body of work that would eventually be known as the Bible, and changed the order of some of those books to better introduce what is now known as the New Testament. In other words, the last book of the Old Testament is a bridge to the first book in the New Testament. Another way of looking at it is that in the Old Testament, the New Testament is concealed; and in the New Testament, the Old Testament is revealed.

Secondly, you claim that the “Bible” and “everything” was corrupted by the Catholic Church. Prove it. How was it corrupted? By whom? Surely, such an enormous movement has names, dates, documents, particular events associated with it. Some say Constantine was the culprit. Well then, explain yourself. How, exactly did he corrupt the Church? Since so many of the important documents of the time are still in existence and available for the masses to read, where’s the evidence? I’ll give you a clue: they don’t exist. However, aside from this historical and logical argument, there is an even greater one. Our Blessed Lord, in no uncertain terms, said: “You are Peter, the Rock, and on this Rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” I suspect this is why you argue so heartily against the “validity” of Scripture and claim the Catholic Church “corrupted” everything. If you accepted Scripture as the divinely-inspired word of God, then logically you would HAVE to believe Christ’s words about Peter the Rock, which gives credence to the Catholic Church being the One Truth Faith.
Next, you claim as “truth” individual instances of corrupt priests. That those exist is not in question. They betray Christ as we ALL sometimes do. As I’ve stated before, Christ allowed Judas to stay in the ranks of the apostles. Perhaps it was to tell His followers that there will always be those, both within and outside the Church, who will betray. Think of it in terms of your own family. If one member betrays another through a thoughtless or evil word or act, do you condemn your entire family because of it?

Finally, you mention the untold wealth of the Catholic Church. Is the Church very wealthy? Of course. It’s a HUGE institution, responsible for keeping up untold numbers of schools, universities, hospitals and charitable organizations. Since you will undoubtedly bring up all those priceless works of art at the Vatican and other churches, let me be the first to say that it is because of the Church, that the world can enjoy the priceless works of art collected over centuries. And as a side point, how exactly would you divide the murals within the Sistine Chapel to feed the hungry? If you or your CPA friend did a little digging, you’d both find that the Vatican actually operates in the red much of the time, trying to keep these museums open and functioning and those statues from crumbling.

Remember Christ’s words that “they may be one, Father, as You and I are One.” There can only be one true Church — the one that Christ came on earth to establish. Like it or not, rage against it or not, this is the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Everything else is a lie or a half lie, which is still, in essence, a lie. If you doubt this, ask yourself this question: Why then do we have 35,000 and counting different “denominations” of “Christianity”, each breaking off from one another, doing something different and believing something different? The answer is not for me; it is for you. Think about it carefully. God bless. If you truly are a Truthseeker, may God open your eyes and may you have the courage to do something about it.

Just plain ridiculous to claim the creators of the bible are evil, while believing the bible is not. All organised religions with their dark age invented ‘books’, are liars. They are nothing but political thought and belief intolerant dictatorships.

the gentile catholic’s — did not create – the Bible. They bounded both the old and the new into books, that is all they did.

Every word of both books existed before Satan counterfeited God’s Church. And Satan did not begin his church until after the first century and by the end of the 2nd and 3rd centuries the catholic’s ran God’s Church into hiding and took the position as THE church.

There are only two assemblies on earth today God’s and Satan’s and God’s Ecclesia is very very small in numbers.

        • LostandFound

Catholics also decided which books belonged in the Bible. That was part of the compilation process. That was decided in the 4th century, which according to your unhistorical opinion was when the church was already run by Satan.
If you are so interested in the early church up to the end of the 2nd and 3rd centuries, why don’t you read what Christians wrote during that time. There is plenty available. You will see exactly how Catholic the Christians were. You would do that if your title “Truthseeker” is accurate.

It is enough for me that catholic pray to idols,
            call pedophiles father,
call one physical man after another holy father
keep bones and skulls and blood and fingers etc in their church buildings
            trashed the Sabbath
changed Passover to a certain day and named it after a pagan goddess,
Look to a dead human woman to intercede for them to Christ
run the rosary bead and chant the same words 50 or 100 times in a row

            on and on and on

with above in plain sight there is no reason to look further.

            • LostandFound

You are wrong in each and every one of your points. You know NOTHING of the Catholic faith. If you are sincere you can read the correct position, as opposed to your johnny-come-lately versions of “Christianity”. I am beginning to wonder if it’s not Catholicism as you state but rather Seventh Day Adventism which is satanic.

              A) Catholics do not pray to idols. We are not stupid. We do have heavenly images in our churches. You can see this in the old testament, for instance Solomon’s temple:
1 Kings 6:23 “For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim out of olive wood, each ten cubits high.” There are other examples. The command was to not WORSHIP graven images, as scripture tells us the Lord was pleased with Solomon’s temple. Solomon did not violate the ten commandments.
              B) call no man father – i already answered this in another post so look there. Besides, Paul talks this way a number of times:
“For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel” (1 Cor. 4:14–15)
              C) Holy – Look up the word holy. It means consecrated – set aside for God’s usage.
Christians called themselves and each other “holy ones” or “saints,” called by God to be his (Rom 1:7). In 1 Peter 1:16 we read, “it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
              D) keep bones & skulls – They did not have cameras back then. They kept almost all of the apostles remains – Peter, Paul, Thomas, Andrew, and so on. They are physical proofs, like DNA would be today. Peter and Paul’s remains are in Rome and Paul’s have been carbon dated.
              E) Trashed the Sabbath. You Seventh Day Adventists started in 1863. All Christians before, and most since, celebrate “The Lord’s Day” .
“On the first day of the week when we gathered to break bread” (Acts 20:7)

              F) Look to a dead human woman to intercede.

              As Jesus answered the Sadduces:

“As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, [the] God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead but of the living.” Mk 11:26-27
Also see my other post about the prayers of the saints in heaven.

              E) And so on.
The “so ons” have proper answers as well. I suspect you will keep repeating points which i have already answered.

And your pedophile priest accusation, the John Jay report documents in 50 years about 10,000 cases. The current rates of pedophilia are 200 per 10,000 population, so the number of Catholics abused represented less than one percent of abuse cases. The media has been playing with the numbers.

Further, the accusation about the Christian faith being paganized after Constantine has never, ever had ANY proper historical backing. None. Ever. it’s a result of shoddy 19th century guess work by ignoramuses such as Ellen G White. whom you insist on believing despite her being a second class soothsayer, a practice forbidden in the Old Testament.

As suggested earlier try reading the writings of early Christians – yes the first and second centuries per your request. You can even read non-Christians, Roman officers’ correspondence regarding the Catholic Mass (punishable by death) and see elsewhere that it is the same Mass we celebrate today.

I will trust you are acting in good faith and actually Seeking the Truth as you say, not settling for a lie because it is less work to do so.

I am not nor ever have been a 7th day adv. Yes I follow Christ as He follows the Father — I observe the 7th Day Sabbath and the 7 Holy Feasts of God Exactly as did Christ and all of the Apostles including Paul.

And I have proven to my self the 10 Commandments are eternal and reveals the Divine Holy Righteous Nature of God to man. Thus I live by them as did Christ and the Apostles.

Catholics follow the pope and the priest and their teachings which change just about every time a new pope takes control of that group. I remember when you could not eat meat on Friday, when you could buy “indulgences” — wait — maybe that is still available.

LOL that brings up something from the past; before I was married, my wife to be, had a friend, she and her boy friend were both Italian catholics. They would Say “”hello” every night and then the next morning run to the priest who would say, OK you are forgive now say 50 hail marys LOL REALLY? This went on for years.

lost — when I read about pagan religions they are a mirror image of your church.

…the idolator can’t separate himself from the religion. Its the ‘religion’ that has them captive. Without the trappings of the saints and sacramental ritual, they are stuck, without a way to speak to to the Lord.
Out, alone in a mean, cruel world with no way to pray (worship) that isn’t blasphemous.

            • LostandFound

…the idolator cannot separate himself from the idolatrous religion of soothsayers. Without the trappings of soothsayers, exactly what God warned us against (Deut 18:9-12) they are stuck.

As Catholics we are too busy worshiping almighty God, and yes, we give him a beautiful entourage, to imitate what He has in heaven, and yes that includes saints.

The real reason you don’t know how to properly understand scripture is because (a) your foundress Ellen G White has no office/authority given to her by Christ (As Catholics do with Peter) (b) you are trying to interpret a two thousand-plus year old document through a 19th century lens (c) the backbone of your religion is soothsaying and condemning Christ’s Church and (d) you refuse to look at the manner by which Christians have worshiped our Lord since the first century, choosing instead to believe popular myths with no historical traction.

Out, alone in a mean, cruel world, not able to sooth-say and condemn Christ’s Church as a distraction, not to be able to put yourself above others, and having no legitimate authority on how one is to understnad God’s Word.

(there have not been reply buttons after your posts so i will answer here)

Sure – you just agree with the SDA then.

Catholics follow the ten commandments. In terms other Torah law that was a major theme if your carefully read Paul’s letters and Acts 15.

Catholicism has nothing even remotely to do with Paganism. You still know nothing of paganism, nothing of Catholicism and nothing of first and second century Christianity.

I can respond to your latest objections because the concepts are theologically valid (nor do you know what an indulgence is, you just think you do, and yes they still exist)

Unfortunately your anecdote is not a true story, unless the parties involved were just joking. Best wishes seeking the Truth (Jn 14:6)

If your God demands worship…it isn’t divine.

      • maxxy

….and you don’t know about the dichotomous nature of this physical reality….There are two saviors offering their own peculiar services….one is earthly (spurious messiah) and holds most of our attention. The Lord admits in the bible that He is a ‘jealous’ God, and your knowledge of his reality is non-existant.
