Gingrich wins Wayne County MI (Nov) Straw Poll (11/9/11 - CNBC Debate night)

The Wayne County Republican Committee held a GOP Debate party, Wednesday 11/09/2011, to watch the Oakland University Republicans and CNBC co-sponsored debate. Following the Debate a Weighted Straw Poll (pick your top 2 Candidates) was conducted and Newt Gingrich was selected as the top GOP Candidate to face off against Barack H. Oblunder.

There were several applause lines throughout the Debate, and conversely the audience showed its displeasure when the CNBC moderators pressed Herman Cain about the Sexual Harassment allegations. All held their own getting across their messages in the manor of their choosing (within the questioning) with the one exception of when Rick Perry stated “I would close three Federal agencies… The Dept. of Education, the Dept. of Commerce…. ” and then, literally “oops!” when he could not remember the third Agency he would choose to close. That Agency, we found out later in the Debate, was the Dept. of Energy. Mitt Romney was the first (in all these Debates) to out-right call for (what I’ve been calling for – see: STOP TALKING, START LEGISLATING! (“Contrast for America”) and New “Contract” = “Contrast for America”) a 10% reduction in Federal workers (though I say Payroll, not # of people).

Despite the Moderators’ intent to get the Candidates to address (read: attack) each other directly, they MOSTLY refrained and stayed on-topic of their own Plan/Agenda – should they be the nominee (with Newt, yet again, admonishing the Moderators/Liberal-MSM’ers for trying to lead a food-fight (my term, not Newt’s) rather than an open Debate. Other times the Candidates referred in positive terms to other Candidates Plans/Agenda, where they were in agreement – showing the complete “Contrast for America” between all of them and the current POTUS.
