Eric Massa New York Congressman Under Investigation For Groping Staffers And Shower With Rahm Emanuel
Washington, DC – The Democratic New York Congressman at the center of the healthcare reform bill of late, is under investigation for groping male staffers.
Eric Massa resigned on Monday as it became known that he was the subject of a House ethics committee investigation over harassment charges.
Massa has recently accused the Democrats of pushing him out of office over his refusal to support the Healthcare reform bill. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs made the following statement on ABC’s Good Morning America:
“Last week, he, on Wednesday, was having a recurrence of cancer. On Thursday, he was guilty of using salty language. On Friday, we learned he’s before the ethics committee to be investigated on charges of sexual harassment. So, look, I think, clearly, his actions appear to be in the appropriate venue in the ethics committees to look at, but we’re focused not on crazy allegations but instead on making this system work for the American people rather than work for insurance companies.”
When asked how he would characterize Eric Massa’s accusations against Democrats Gibbs responded that they were “silly and ridiculous”.
