Police Taser Man As His Baby Died In House Fire

The City of Louisiana anticipates a lawsuit from the family of a 3-year-old boy who died in a house fire Thursday while police waiting for the fire department tased and jailed the child’s father for trying to save his child’s life. 

“He tried to get back in the house to get the baby,” the child’s grandmother and tazed man’s mother Lori Miller said. “They took my son to jail because he tried to save his son.”

Young Riley Miller was pronounced dead at Missouri’s Pike County Memorial Hospital.

Louisiana (MO) Police Department Sgt. Jeffery Salois stunned Ryan Miller with a Taser gun three times when he tried to enter the burning house, according to KHQA News.

Ryan Miller’s sister-in-law thinks that the police mismanaged the situation.

“It’s just heartless,” Miller’s sister-in-law Emily said. “How could they be so heartless?

“And while they all just stood around and waited for the fire department. What kind of police officer wouldn’t try and save a three year old burning in a house?”  

“We’ve been going through pictures and he’s just smiling in every picture. He was just a happy, go-lucky kid.”
