Soaring asset prices have fueled the number of rich people on the planet. Forbes reported a record 1,645 billionaires on the planet in March who currently have an aggregate net worth of $6.6 trillion. There were 793 people on our list of the World’s Billionaires with a collective net worth is $2.4 trillion five years ago in the depths of the recession.

The 2014 KnightFrank World Wealth report indicates that there are 167,600 people in the world with over US$30 million in net worth and they have a collective net worth of $20.1 trillion.
