Devnagri AI, India’s first AI-powered translation platform, has been recognized as one of the top three finalists in the prestigious IndiaAI Innovation Challenge under the ‘Improved governance through the use of language technologies’ category, organized by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology through the Digital India Corporation.

The announcement came during an award ceremony held on March 6, 2025, where Devnagri co-founder Himanshu Sharma was honored for the company’s groundbreaking multilingual AI solution, Devnagri AI Contact Center.

Devnagri AI’s solution addresses the critical challenge of language barriers in government services through its multilingual AI-powered support system that enables seamless customer interactions across languages. The technology automates responses, assists agents, and ensures accurate real-time conversation, making communication effortless and efficient for all citizens regardless of the language they speak.

The Innovation Challenge focuses explicitly on developing AI applications that have the potential to catalyze large-scale socio-economic transformation.

Devnagri AI’s selection recognizes its innovation in addressing two critical use cases for improved governance through language technologies:

1. Public Service Access:   

Creating an AI platform that improves seamless information retrieval on government schemes and subsidies through a voice/text-based conversational agent working in all Indian languages.

2. Grievance Redressal & Legal Support:

Integrating and leveraging conversational agents for grievance redressal and legal information to streamline complaint filing and to offer text and voice assistance.
 

As a finalist, Devnagri AI received a sum of Rs. 25 Lakh to refine further and deploy its solution at scale.
