What's In My Faraday Cage? Glad You Asked

This does not happen very often.  It’s like being a baseball player in major league baseball and the pitcher decides to mix things up by pitching me an under hand soft ball pitch.  This is me hitting it back.  I commented yesterday on another poster’s article on a possible EMP attack. The response to my mentioning the the solar storm of 1859 and also mentioning that a Faraday cage might be a good idea was this:

First of all I just want you to know that this person is not my sock puppet (I did not post this using an alternate BIN account).  I dont know if this person is one of those paid disinfo trolls (if they actually exist, I do not know) but if so they are paying this one too much.  My response to the solar storm reply:

The fact of your height in the past is a reason why another solar storm like 1859 will never happen again. The height of the grass in my back yard says otherwise. 

I also posted a link to Nasa where they had an article abouit a recent solar flare that would have probably been another Carrington event had it been earth directed.  I saved my response to this:

[Answers question from the podium at the front of the classroom]: What electronic devices in my Farady cage will work after an EMP event?  All of them. But inparticular the 3 inverters.  Do you know what an inverter is? It changes 12 volts (car battery) into 120 volts.  The car battery in the bottom of my larger two door 4 shelf grounded metal cabinet will work fine with these.  I also have a spare 10 watt solar panel and an 80 watt outside the cage (fingers crossed). [Wipes chalkboard clean with the seat of student's pants].

I actually have 3 faraday cages / office furniture.  They are so easy to use as a Faraday cage as id they were made with this in mind.  What else do I have in the cages?  I mean besides file folders and other non electronics.

Volt / multimeter

LED lighting including some supercapacitor flashlights

CB radio

Shortwave radio

FRS radio

Cassette tape player /recorder and tapes.

Battery opperated adio amplifiers and preamplifiers as well as condenser microphones.

Lots of electronic components.

Regulator boards (convert 12 volts to a lower voltage).

12 volt alarm horn.

telephones (can be operated on 6 – 12 volts as an intercom system over hundreds of feet of wire.

and lots more.

I’m sure all these will work fine.

This will do for now as I have to go to work. I hope to be adding a list of contoversial statements that this person can take issue with.  I should also spell check then.
