Big Oops? What Scientists Thought Made up 70% of Universe May Not Exist: Dark Substance with Magnetic Force Causing Universe to Expand Not Dark Energy

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Researchers the world over have long believed that 70 percent of the universe is composed of dark energy, a substance that makes it possible for the universe to expand at an ever-increasing rate. But in a new study, University of Copenhagen researchers tested a model which suggests that the universe’s expansion is due to a dark substance with a kind of magnetic force. Should the model stand, it means that dark energy simply doesn’t exist, according to the UCPH professor behind the study.Photo: Getty Images

Until now, researchers have believed that dark energy accounted for nearly 70 percent of the ever-accelerating, expanding universe. For many years, this mechanism has been associated with the so-called cosmological constant, developed by Einstein in 1917, that refers to an unknown repellant cosmic power.

But because the cosmological constant—known as dark energy—cannot be measured directly, numerous researchers, including Einstein, have doubted its existence—without being able to suggest a viable alternative.

Until now. In a new study by researchers at the University of Copenhagen, a model was tested that replaces dark energy with a dark matter in the form of magnetic forces.

“If what we discovered is accurate, it would upend our belief that what we thought made up 70 percent of the universe does not actually exist. We have removed dark energy from the equation and added in a few more properties for dark matter. This appears to have the same effect upon the universe’s expansion as dark energy,” explains Steen Harle Hansen, an associate professor at the Niels Bohr Institute’s DARK Cosmology Centre.

The universe expands no differently without dark energy

The usual understanding of how the universe’s energy is distributed is that it consists of five percent normal matter, 25 percent dark matter and 70 percent dark energy.

In the UCPH researchers’ new model, the 25 percent share of dark matter is accorded special qualities that make the 70 percent of dark energy redundant.

“We don’t know much about dark matter other than that it is a heavy and slow particle. But then we wondered—what if dark matter had some quality that was analogous to magnetism in it? We know that as normal particles move around, they create magnetism. And, magnets attract or repel other magnets—so what if that’s what’s going on in the universe? That this constant expansion of dark matter is occurring thanks to some sort of magnetic force?” asks Steen Hansen.

Computer model tests dark matter with a type of magnetic energy

Hansen’s question served as the foundation for the new computer model, where researchers included everything that they know about the universe—including gravity, the speed of the universe’s expansion and X, the unknown force that expands the universe.

“We developed a model that worked from the assumption that dark matter particles have a type of magnetic force and investigated what effect this force would have on the universe. It turns out that it would have exactly the same effect on the speed of the university’s expansion as we know from dark energy,” explains Steen Hansen.

However, there remains much about this mechanism that has yet to be understood by the researchers. And it all needs to be checked in better models that take more factors into consideration. As Hansen puts it:

“Honestly, our discovery may just be a coincidence. But if it isn’t, it is truly incredible. It would change our understanding of the universe’s composition and why it is expanding. As far as our current knowledge, our ideas about dark matter with a type of magnetic force and the idea about dark energy are equally wild. Only more detailed observations will determine which of these models is the more realistic. So, it will be incredibly exciting to retest our result.

It may be premature to assume the expansion of the universe is due to a force. Perhaps looking at the totality of the universe (space-time), rather than the universe changing in time, we can see the expansion merely as its geography and topology. Measuring space-time in time seems flawed, as does measuring space-time in space. This could relegate the expansion to being akin to gravity, which though considered a force, is probably a derivative of another force (electro-magnetic). It may be valid to ask what underlies the geography. But you cannot compare two points in space-time over an interval since those points only exist for an infinitesimally small amount of time related to the Plank constant. You can compare the space-time between two objects over and interval. Perhaps there is a distance at which gravity between the objects is overcome by the gravity pulling them apart due to the matter outside them which continually increases as the universe expands.

Gravity is caused by virtual particle annihilation. An actual particle annihilates against a virtual particle, leaving the remaining virtual particle as the new actual particle. The resulting photon of the annihilation, fuels the next annihilation and the cycle continues. Virtual particles can annihilate against against adjacent pairs of virtual particles creating chains, nets, or tapestries of particles connected by the photons between them. This then, creates the gravity when actual matter is involved. Gravity is electromagnetic force between matter and virtual particle annihilation. It takes energy to change or overcome this constant electro-magnetic annihilation cycle; this explains inertia.

Perhaps the Universe’s expansion is symmetrical with its contraction. Maybe the Universe is a black hole. Can light escape the universe? Does light over a far enough distance become infinitely red-shifted? like light trying to escape a black hole? The expansion may be similar to the way a black hole would turn you into spaghetti with the gravity differential pulling you apart as you fall into it. The expansion between two distant objects may be due to the gravity differential of the black hole universe. Anywhere you are in the universe is effectively the singularity relative to some distant point. And just as it’s possible to enter a very large black hole without being torn apart, or even noticing your entrance, it’s possible the universe is a very large black hole. You continue to fall in it forever as evidenced by the continued expansion. But you have no sensation of falling because a fee falling object is at rest. But resisting the free fall takes energy and is experienced as acceleration.

Perhaps it is possible to compute properties of the black hole universe by comparing data about the expansion between two distant objects with data about such an expansion between two objects in a theoretical black hole. This may be able to estimate the size to age ratio of the universe.

Another very interesting variable to look at is change in the speed of light rather than change in wavelength, though that opens another can of worms. I’ve commented on that in the past and may do so in the future.

As there are known red shift phemonena right next to blue shift phenomena maybe the whole construct is utter horseshit.

Gravity is a theory and can be equally explained by density and that is likely BS too.

The only black holes are in scientists brains otherwise known as ‘the voids’.

Everything about light is likely BS too.

Pure Swill! ‘There is no dark matter…but there is…but it’s the dark matter’s magnetic field.’ This crap would curl a hogs nose.

The ancients knew that the all-pervading luminiferous aether (unified field) is the primordial substrate from which all so-called ‘matter’ precipitates.

The gobbledygook exuding from these overpaid, logically detached egg-heads is perpetuated Polly parrot style ad nauseam.

If one could obtain the security clearance to the military industrial complex skunk work’s coveted physics 101, they would find the first lesson in reality is the existence of the aether, without which there would be no physicality.

This information has been concealed from the public for the simple fact that it makes the manipulation of ‘reality’ possible.

Knowledge is power…no truer words were ever spoken…other than that such knowledge should never be allowed in the public domain.

    • Fake News = The False Prophet

      Not scientists… fantasists, lunatics maybe.

    • Pystopheles

I bet it could pulse in and out in some kind of stable configuration, instead of crapping out in bullshitty fantastic ways.
