Hamilton Wins Turkish Grand Prix 2010 - Istanbul
Hamilton wins and McClaren secure a one-two finish following a Red Bull team collision at Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul.
Lewis Hamilton clinched his first win of the season and team mate Jenson Button finishing in second place. The events turned in favour of McClaren when the Red Bull collided seeing Sebastian Vettel out of the race, and Mark Webber losing two positions.
On Sunday afternoon, Webber and team mate Vettel looked like they were going to secure another one-two finish until the 41st lap, when Vettel ran parallel with Webber and his wheel clipped Webber’s car which sent Vettel into a spin and out of the race. Webber was lucky enough to continue racing, but he lost two places, to McClaren who were close in pursuit.
Then, on the 48th lap a small amount of rain fell and McClaren cars were told to conserve fuel. Button caught Hamilton and in a similar situation to the Red Bull incident, Button and overtook Hamilton for a few brief seconds, before Hamilton re-gained the lead. It also looked suscpiciously like their cars also clipped.
Despite Webbers incident, he was so far ahead of Schumacher and managed to pit and replace a front nose wing and still got a podium finish in third place.
