Three Questions About the Seahawks as Training Camp Gets Closer

The 43rd year for the Seattle Seahawks saw the team go 10-6, but fall in their first playoff game, a road game in Dallas to the Cowboys 24-22.

The team is expected to be in the mix for the NFC West title again this season with the Los Angeles Rams, as if you use 4njbets you can put some cash on the Hawks to try and take the title in 2019.

There’s been plenty of activity this offseason for the Hawks as they look to take a step forward, the biggest of which was to get QB Russell Wilson under a new deal.

Today we take a look at three questions about this team as camp closes in at the end of the month.

1. Let’s Get to the QB More

The Hawks last season recorded 43 sacks, and if they are going to put the heat on QB’s again in 2019, there’s a question on what player is going to do it?

The Seahawks dealt pass rusher Frank Clark to the Chiefs for a first-round and a second-round pick in 2020. Last season he had 13 sacks, and someone has to step up and replace that.

Can L.J. Collier from TCU, the team’s first-round pick this season have an impact? He might be a player that is called on to step in for Clark.

Look for Rasheem Green and Jacob Martin to also be players that try to do more to get to the quarterback in 2019.

2. Who Replaces Doug Baldwin?

Doug Baldwin was released from the Hawks for not being able to pass a team physical, and no matter if it was right or not to cut the longtime pass catcher, the team now must move on without him.

Baldwin last season caught 50 passes for 618 yards with five scores. While not huge numbers, they are numbers that someone must make up for Russell Wilson and the offense.

One player who will get that chance to step up in 2019 is draft pick D.K. Metcalf, a player with blazing speed who could have a great first year for the Hawks.

3. Can Carson Repeat His 2018 Success?

It felt like the Hawks had spent the last few seasons looking for a back to step up and take over as the lead running back, and in 2018 that happened with Chris Carson.

The 24-year-old had a great season rushing for 1151 yards, a 4.7 yards per carry average to go along with nine scores.

He also caught 20 balls for 163 yards, not great but also not terrible numbers for a three-down back. Now that teams know all about Carson, it will be interesting to see if they key more in on him as 2019 gets going.
