The Bills are Off to a 2-0 Start, and Josh Allen is Proving He Can Be a Star in the NFL

Don’t look now, but the Buffalo Bills are looking like they could seriously make some noise in the AFC this season, something that hasn’t been said in a very long time.

If you would have checked delaware online sports betting you could have seen that many thought the 2019 Bills were again going to languish in the bottom or near the bottom of the AFC East.

Two weeks in, they have shown that they have the talent for that not to be the case, and a lot of it is due to the play of second-year quarterback Josh Allen.

Sunday in the Meadowlands for the second straight week on the road at MetLife Stadium, the Bills were led by Allen to a win, this time beating the New York Giants by a final of 28-14.

Unlike the week before against the New York Jets, the Bills did not have to come storming back after falling behind. This time they controlled the game, and with Allen at the helm, they looked just fine in setting the tempo and playing smart football.

“Everybody has their opinion and I know he didn’t mean anything like that,” said Allen after the 14-point win on Sunday.

“All I want to do is focus on what the Bills are doing.”

Allen was more than good enough to get the job done against what looks to be a weak Giants team in 2019. He ended up throwing for 253 yards on 19-of-30 with no interceptions, and he also ran in a score to extend the Bills lead and threw for one earlier in the game.

The team and Allen were irked earlier in the week by Giants head coach Pat Shurmur, who commented that the quarterback from Wyoming had the potential to be an NFL starter coming out of the 2018 draft. Some felt it insulted the seventh overall pick in the draft from last season.

“He doesn’t need any extra motivation,” veteran receiver Cole Beasley said of Allen and the Shurmur comment.

“He’s motivated every week. He’s had naysayers from the beginning. It’s nothing new for him. I don’t even know if he noticed it.”

He may or may not have, but did seem to have an extra chip on his shoulder during the win, which was very much noticed by his teammates who are not afraid to follow the lead of the quarterback who quickly is proving a lot of naysayers wrong.

The Bills are 2-0 for the first time in five years, and Allen has a ton to do with it.
