Pat Mahomes’ MRI Results are In; QB to Miss 4-to-6 Weeks with Injury

Chiefs fans who have been waiting by their phones, radios and television sets by the moment today for the results of the MRI of team MVP Pat Mahomes finally have the results of said test.

Just about all are breathing a lot easier.

If you would have checked Tennessee Online Sports Betting earlier, many felt that Mahomes would be done for the 2019 season, but instead sources are stating that Mahomes could miss just four-to-six weeks, meaning that he’ll be back and ready to again lead the Chiefs on a hopeful playoff run.

Last season’s MVP and the top player in the Chiefs organization escaped significant ligament damage when he dislocated his right kneecap.

The team is staying somewhat silent about a return to the roster, but overall and there is hope that he could be back on the field in about a month.

The big news was the MRI on Friday, and according to reports the exam showed that the ligaments were intact, meaning that he would be able to avoid surgery and not have to go under the knife.

If Mahomes would have torn ligaments, he would have for sure missed the remainder of the 2019 campaign with the Chiefs looking at starting Matt Moore at quarterback.

As far as the Chiefs schedule goes, the team will take on the Green Bay Packers a week from Sunday, then face the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans.

The game against the Titans will be a prime-time Monday night matchup on November 18th. The Chiefs (5-2) have their bye the following week, so as of now it’s not out of the question that if everything with the rehab goes well that Mahomes could be back either for that Monday night Tennessee game, or even the game against Oakland on December 1st.

“The kid had the MRI and we don’t have all the information. That’s what I can give you,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Friday.

“Once we get the information, we can give you everything that kind of happened and what’s going on down the road. The whole deal.”

So for now it looks like the Chiefs will have to play more of a careful approach to their offense, as unless they make a headline making deal for a player like Marcus Mariota, the team will go with Matt Moore, who filled in nicely Thursday in the 30-6 win.

As long as this team can weather the storm, there is no doubt the Chiefs season is clearly not as desperate as many felt it was 24 hours ago.
