Isn’t it about time for a woman!

The environmental pick of Red Wolves appears to be an unscientific favorite with fans. Dan, even though an apparent heavy donor of Trump, seems to have moved towards the left like Chief Justice Earl Warren, the question remains if this is being forced upon him or who is in his ears these days since obviously not Bruce Allen. In the past decade, this writer has noticed solar panel at Fed Ex for power and electric car stations which are environmental statements for an Owner that is supposedly a very un-environmentalist. A name after an environmental endangered species would seem to confirm that Dan got the name right! Going from a racist name to something that kids would grasp hold of for the most part. But this writer is not in favor of the Red Wolves because of a terrible historic connection to the Nazi regime with Wolves. More to Come. WFT, today!

Washington Red Wolves versus Philadelphia Eagles, does not really sound that inspiring.
How about Washington Warriors versus New York Giants, intriguing.
Washington Red Tails versus the Dallas Cowboys, that sound great!.
Down the road will we get bored of every howling after every 1st down, it seems like corporate nonsense as a Wolfpack—we can do much better!
Heck, I already see people saying the NFL apologized to Colin Kaepernick—a Nevada Wolfpack alumni—with the wolf pack in DC.
Seriously, this writer loves the military names as they are much more powerful and a better statement given we are the Washington Football Team and city of Washington. We cannot deny the war like nature of our country.
Even though this writer is personally a peacenik or quite dovish…how can anyone in this country not agree that this team should honor the military and vets and the flag, Well, Washington, you cannot even if arguing force used for peacekeeping means.
A Red Wolf identity–too cool, at first! But over the years it fades. It becomes the most-gimmicky of the three front runners. This writer does not like corporate creations. Will we teach a generation of kids all to cheer the same way at the same time. Bram Weinstein the new voice of the WFT said verbatim on his radio show, ‘will I be howling’ after each 1st down.’ It seems to laugh machine or audience applause…Personally, this writer would like to howl when we score as the Red Tails. Yes, that is totally my vote for a name.
This writer has heard that Red Wolves is a military unit so if a solider is on the logo that would fly better in my mind.
But there is no law against howling with Red tails and Warriors, right! That is non-corporate! That is creative! Like with our former name, there is not a cluck-moo or oik-oik!
Unpredictably always more sustainable.
Heck, this writer wants to hear Bram and DeAngelo and Julie talking’ about evasive actions needed for the Red Tails (Catch-22 reference, my favorite book). Like we have had a halftime adjustment in three decades, not even.
A logo/symbol of the famous image of the soldiers taking Iwo Jama and hoisting the flag, that would be a helmet! Some people still do not get that with players kneeling, some of us hope that one day because of how great our country is at fix social problems, these players will be standing. Hope!
If we had a helmet with a flag and solider, a player–BLM advocate or such–kneeling or something like that, powerful! Protect our most sacred right of freedom of protest which our military defends!
For the Red Tails helmet, putting a mustang shadowed in the background like the eagle feather in the old logo design in honor of the fact that the Red Tails flew in the vaunted Mustangs, either the horse or the plane or both. With shadowing and outlines and a Red Tail pilot similar to our old logo…a lot can be done for a design for the Red Tails, Warriors or Red Wolves. Let’s keep it people based—like our democracy!.
A helmet can be done with a Red Wolf solider and a Red Wolf in the background if the one this writer is against is agreed upon. Hopefully it will look nothing like the designs I am seeing on the net, Dan with that racist legacy R also..
But this writer does have one gut-wrenching, not too sound way too pc consideration to the name of a Red Wolf. This writer understands our military uses it for a unit so it is very American and I do not want to step on toes so that the adoption by the WFT is probably fine judgement in terms of not being racist. It is a wolf not a racist caricature I would think..
HOWEVER, there is a historical connotations with Wolves which go back to World War II and especially, Adolph Hitler. Hitler’s Nazis bunker was named Wolfsschanze which in English means Wolf Liar because Hitler and the Nazis fascination with the Wolf, this writer believes from researching on the net.
This writer believes that Hitler was more fascinated with Grey Wolves…but I sincerely from the bottom of my heart hope the WFT higher ups will do some serious research if Wolf symbol would have major negative connation, even in other places.
If so, why risk another controversy especially when this writer sees no problems with Warriors or Red Tails (except with doves like me).
How would Washington Peaceful Warriors fly: unfortunately, there are still social platforms that are un-popular.
Come to think of it, this writer loves the idea of naming the team after a World War II hero and legendary Norse mythology…the Washington Valkyries in honor of the group of men lead by superhero Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg who attempted to assassinate Hitler at his Wolfsschanze (or Wolf’s Lair) and lost his life from his plot.
Gosh darn table got in the way!

Valkyries was a Norse female goddess—given the current state of football and as far as I know no sports team has a woman on it—why not! We have woman on the battlefield, in the coaching ranks, running for VP—but not on a helmet! What’s up, America!
So, please before any more with Red Wolves, check your WWII history and current events, WFT.
And check into Valkyries, also!
But this writer believes Dan will not be picking another slur given the height of the new naming decision that he made. By getting rid of Native imagery he saw he knew what respect was on this issue. SO, I doubt he will be replacing it with an equally racist logo and name. I wonder if he will be forced out! I certainly think he should step down immediately as he had over a decade since Sean Taylor to get it right here in Washington.TO me, the allegations while completely unfounded and worth fighting as a fan Dan do what is best. Historically, dictators who stay on for too long end up destroying their countries…how much better Syria would be…If you still got your belt and, just leave. Get out! We are not in 1st place in this town anymore thanks mostly because of you! It is a new decade—make amends like Scrooge.
Maybe this writer is naïve and Dan will never step down…but at least today we are no longer hated for our racist name. Actually, as of today, this writer believe the Dallas Cowboys are the most racist franchise in the league given their lack of trail blazing on inclusion of all races and religions! SO here in WFT land, way to go Dan! Now, get out!
