Broncos Reportedly Have No Interest in QB Carson Wentz

The Broncos are still in the mix looking for a possible new quarterback for the upcoming season and beyond.

One player who is on the market is unhappy Philadelphia Eagles backup Carson Wentz, who last season struggled and was eventually replaced by rookie Jalen Hurts.

Wentz in five seasons with the Eagles has been up and down, going 35-32-1, throwing 113 touchdowns and 50 interceptions.

While Wentz could be the best option for the Broncos, reportedly Denver has no interest in having to deal draft picks and potential players on their roster to bring him in.

Troy Renck of Denver7 says the quarterback and Denver is not a match, tweeting Monday that the team is a lot more interested in 25-year-old Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson.

“#Broncos QB situation will dominate offseason discussion. They will pursue Watson if #Texans decide to trade him. They are not in on Wentz. Lock has handled noise well, working out, focused on having a great offseason. He understands he has to get better to keep/win job,” Renck tweeted.

This past season the quarterback started 12 games, led the NFL in sacks taken (50) and total turnovers committed (19). He tied with Broncos incumbent Drew Lock for most interceptions thrown (15).
