Niners Looking to Get Off to Fast Start, Challenge the Best in the NFL in 2021

It was a tough 2020 season for the 49ers, as the team was ravaged by injuries early and often, and the club in the end was no match for the better teams in the NFC.

In the end, the Niners went 6-10, they were last place in the division in the NFC West, and just 1-7 at home.

Now they have a new QB in Trey Lawrence and a handful of new players that they think can get the job done this upcoming season.

The Niners knows what lies ahead in 2021, as the team watched the Rams win a couple postseason games and then their season ended with a loss to the Packers.

Now the team is looking to be more consistent, and they want to make their team into a quick NFC contender once again.

On Wednesday night, the NFL released the 2021 49ers schedule, and we couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming season!

After looking through the schedule and giving it some careful consideration, these are the 3 matchups that I’m most looking forward to:

9/19 at Philadelphia – Jalen Hurts is a solid second-year QB that can make life tough for anyone, and he will look to do that in 2021 when the 49ers and Eagles go to battle in week in in the city of brotherly love. Hurts took over for Carson Wentz late last season, and then was named the starter though now he’s about to be in a competition with Joe Flacco in Philly. Can the Niners slow down Hurts? It remains to be seen.

10/24 vs Indianapolis – The 49ers haven’t have much, if any, success against the Colts over the years, not beating them since the 2001 season in November. Now they will have a shot in 2021, and with a win they can put a huge ‘W’ in the win column. Carson Wentz is now the signal caller in Indy, so look for a whole new look for this Indy team as they come out west to San Fran for this late November showdown.

11/21 at Jacksonville – The Niners will get their first taste of this season’s first overall pick in the draft in Jags new QB Trevor Lawrence, a player that coming from Clemson is expected to make a HUGE impact on the Jags roster. He’s got the footwork as well as speed to get the job done, and the Niners have to respect that when they do battle.
