The Sky’s The Limit For WFTs Current Quarterbacks: Recent History Suggest Journeymen QBs Have a Shot at Winning The Conference And The Lombardi!

So, this article will trace the last decade plus (2010s-current) of quarterbacks involved in the Super Bowls from this blogger recollection-of course.

This year Super Bowl is LVI (Sofi Stadium) 2/13/22, Inglewood, Ca.

Since this is a blog, this blogger would assert the NFL wants New England versus Tampa Bay., a match-up of Brady vs Bellichick.

This is the attractive bet for SOFI ‘56.

PART 1: Background

The sports waves here in DC from what this BLOGGER can get a read on have given Lord V status to talk of championships in the off-season.

Burned by too many Deion and Bruce Smith’s and Albert Haynesworth’s, talk of the Super Bowl has been replaced by a postseason or playoff victory similar to Nats and Caps struggles prior to championships.

But I’m a Yankee fan—we just win!

We here in DC seem to have some sort of imbecilic process of taking seasons in steps building up to a championship. How well is the process working in Philly, Ben Simmons, not well.

The process I know of—from being a 4th grader in 1982 here in the DMV and a diehard WFT fan—was us barnstorming the NFL en route to a something like averaging 2 losses over 2 seasons and 1 championship and 2 Super Bowl appearances. Utter domination of the Miamis, Detroit, Minnesota, SF, and Dalla s and the whole entire league.

Every year since when at 0-0, I am hoping for that return to glory.

Most every season this BLOGGER is eating crow from Gus’ neck butt to Smith’s nearly devastating injury and falling out of 1st in 2018. Life of a fan.

This still (however) for a team: ‘that we are going to dominant this marathon of a season…the best blueprint always for an NFL team come July.

PART 2: The Blog

I thought it would be interesting being that still the biggest question for WFT perennially: a search for a franchise quarterback since Rypien guided us to a championship in 1991-1992.

The most anger by our fans that we do not have Cousins still or a Trevor Lawrence…

We have groomed quarterbacks such as Jason Campbell (mid 1st round) Patrick Ramsey (mid 1st round), Kirk Cousins (4th round) …. Unfortunately, Alex Smith (trade with KCC) RGIII (1st round BUST) and Trent Green were our best QB play since Rypien but they along with Brad Johnson could not stay healthy.

Fans are angry that we have not been the worst to get Burrow or Lawrence and the Rivera regime will fail because we were not the worse to get the best.

So, fatal for our franchise to fool around with mediocrity and QBs like losing record Fitzpatrick or journeyman’s Allen and Heinicke. Montez anyone.

But evidence over the last decade plus suggest more often it is stellar defense and a career year from a QB outside of the GOAT Brady to achieve glory in the NFL. Evidence suggests half the time a Hall of fame franchiser is in the super bowl but a lot of other QBs made it to the big stage and a few won since 2010.

PART 4: Conclusion

Don’t stick fork in Fitz Magic et al.

Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Tom Brady all appear to be on their way to the hall of fame playing mainly for one team as a franchise QB (albeit Brady and Peyton going to gain championship with a later team and the uncertainty of Rodgers and Wilson).

Patrick Mahomes represents the belief that a team will be good for years with a great quarterback. Mahomes and his $400 million dollar contract represent KCC faith III their crane hiss Q; yet they are more questions regarding Mahomes than ever given his most recent Postseason performances including his last Super Bowl.

The other QBs, Joe Flacco, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Jeff Goff, Nick Foles, Colin Kaepernick,…well you get the point—none appear best than average. All sort of had that “best season” to propel them to a Super Bowl.

So, do not stick the fork in WFTs QB this season at 0-0.

The fan base that given WFT QB situation simply out of anger over not trading up for Mac Jones or one of the abs available is already “realistically” pointing towards 2022-2023 are not the realists…it is a long season which many ups and downs and with a little luck, well, Lord V is in town?

Recent history and evidence would suggest that to be ultra-competitive relies more on defense than franchise QBs outside of Tom Brady, who has 3 (and 5 appearances) of the last 12 Championships.

Bringing this question to our fan base, media, bloggers and coaches: do franchise quarterbacks really exist? Do franchise QBs really make a difference outside Tom Brady?
