Best Player Props for Ravens-Cowboys

Rashod Bateman at minicamp

The Ravens enter Week 3 sitting at 0-2 for the first time since 2015. It’s still very early in the season, but the wins are going to have to start coming soon. From a player prop betting standpoint however, the wins have been plentiful as we’ve started the season 8-2. The strategy thus far has been to keep it simple, banking on guys we know are going to be relied on week in and week out. Sunday provides us with another opportunity to stay hot, especially considering the Ravens are headed to Dallas to face a defense coming off a week where the Saints hung 44 points on them with 432 yards of offense.

In a must-win game for the Ravens, here are five player props to consider heading into Week 3. Let’s stay hot:

Derrick Henry O 69.5 Rushing Yards (-110 ESPN Bet)

Last week, Alvin Kamara rushed for 115 yards on this Dallas defense. To make matters worse for the Cowboys, they placed Defensive Tackle Jordan Phillips on IR with a wrist injury following their Week 2 loss. Derrick Henry was able to get going as the game rolled along against the Raiders last week, and the Ravens are certainly going to look to establish the run again in an attempt to keep the offense on schedule and neutralize star outside linebacker Micah Parsons. The Ravens should be able to pave the way for Derrick Henry to build off last week’s performance against a weak defensive front.

Derrick Henry Anytime TD (-155 ESPN Bet)

Building off the prop above, if Henry and the Ravens truly take advantage of this matchup, finding the end zone should not be an issue. When the Ravens get in goal to go scenarios, they hand the ball off, so who better to hand the ball off to than their 6’3” 247 lb. running back? They used this approach all of last year with Gus Edwards and it paid off, and they’ve gone right back to it this year as Henry has scored in both games this season. This prop was at -180 last week against a defensive front with the likes of Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins, and riding it was a no brainer. We’re going back to it sitting at -155 this week against an inferior Dallas Defensive Line.

Ezekiel Elliot Under 34.5 Rushing Yards (-120 ESPN Bet)

The Cowboys look to be utilizing the committee approach at Running Back this season. Last week against the Saints, Rico Dowdle out-snapped Ezekiel Elliot and was much more efficient with the touches he got, gaining 30 yards on seven carries and adding 29 receiving yards on four catches. Zeke only mustered 16 yards on six carries last week, and if the Cowboys are looking to ride the hot hand, they may lean more on Dowdle than Elliot. Whoever the Cowboys decide to roll with will have a tough time getting anything going vs. the Ravens front 7. Through two weeks, the Ravens are tops in the league in defending the run, surrendering only 49.5 rushing yards per game. The New Orleans Saints, who just went against this Cowboys backfield, are second in rushing defense thus far. All signs are pointing to the Ravens dominating this matchup Sunday afternoon.

CeeDee Lamb O 6.5 Receptions (-135 ESPN Bet)

The Ravens defense has struggled this season taking away the opposing team’s top wide out. This week won’t get any easier as they prepare for CeeDee Lamb, a consensus top receiver in the league, and top three fantasy football pick. Lamb lines up everywhere but is particularly effective in the slot. That’s bad news for the Ravens, as they have allowed a 68.4% success rate on opposing targets to the slot so far this season, the 2nd highest rate behind only the Washington Commanders (Per NFL Insights). The Ravens offense should remain efficient, putting the pressure on Dallas to keep up, and Lamb in the slot is a matchup to anticipate the Cowboys attacking to move the ball down the field.

Rashod Bateman Longest Reception O 15.5 Yards (-110 ESPN Bet )

I stated last week that we would ride this one until the wheels fell off, and the wheels are still turning. Rashod Bateman has five receptions for 93 yards through the first two weeks, averaging 18.6 yards per catch. The Ravens offensive scheme thus far is to establish the run and quick passing game early. If they do that effectively, that opens up the play action game and allows them to take shots down the field. When the Ravens take those shots, Bateman will be a guy Lamar will be looking for. Per NFL insights, Jackson has completed 12-17 intermediate passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Cowboys have allowed a 64.1% expected completion percentage on such throws this season, the 3rd highest in the NFL. The looks will be there for Bateman this week, and if all goes right, this prop will hit for the 3rd time in as many weeks.
