World’s Hairiest Girl Finds Love Decides To Shave Herself

Despite her extraordinary hairy body and being called names like ‘Wolf Girl’ and ‘Chewbacca’, 17-year-old Supatra ‘Natty’ Sasuphan from Bangkok, Thailand…has found the love of her life it seems.

She even decided to shave her face after marrying her now husband. Sasuphan suffers from a disorder known as Hypertrichosis Lanuginosa. It is also known as “werewolf syndrome”. This condition stimulates excessive amounts of hair on someone’s body. The hair is random and grows in varying different amounts.

This genetic disorder, is sometimes inherited and is the result from a spontaneous type of mutation. Sometimes, Hypertrichosis Lanuginosa can happen later in life – when someone is diagnosed with a cancer of some kind. Typically, this is caught when someone is in the later stages of their cancer.

Sasuphan previously has been documented by the Guinness World Book of Records as being the world’s hairiest girl back in 2010. She was 10 years old at the time. There have been only a few people with this disorder dating back to the Middle Ages. They never found a cure for this disorder and still havent with today’s medicines and treatments. Laser treatment have so far not been able to completely stop the actual hair growth from happening. Most of the time, the hair comes back in thicker and quicker.

Despite her physical deformation, Sasuphan has embraced her condition and has tried to make the most of her life like anyone else. After speaking with Guinness World Records among others, she mentioned that the bullying she received in school never got to her. Sasuphan always had both her family and friends to lean on and they always supported her.

When she won the record for being the hairiest girl in the world, this is what she had to say:

“I don’t feel any different to anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school…Being hairy makes me special. There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it anymore.

I’m very used to this condition. I can’t feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don’t feel anything. It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day.”

Her father Sammrueng said, “We found out Supatra’s condition when she was born – we did not know before. She was not very healthy because her nostrils were only one millimeter wide.

For the first three months she was kept in an incubator to help her breathe. She was in the hospital for a total of 10 months. We were very worried about her.

When neighbors first saw Nat they asked what kind of sin I had done. I was very worried about what she would be when she grew up because of other children teasing her. She is just the same as any other little girl her age. But her teeth grow slowly and she can’t see very well. I still hope one day she will be cured. We will do anything we can if it will help her.”

After being married, Supatra has decided to start shaving her face and body regularly and is pressing on with her life. She has since taken to social media to share her new look. The future it seems is bright for this unique young lady.
