Calvin Parker and the 1973 Pascagoula event

Philip Mantle, on Facebook, is pushing his and Parker’s second volume dealing with the 1973 “abduction” event:

Earlier, Philip wrote me that Kathy Marden, Betty Hill’s niece, hypnotized Calvin, to acquire more from his memory.

I usually eschew hypnosis, as all Freudians (and Psychoanalysts and psychiatrists)  do, because of the inherent corruption of memory by factors and experiences that come from elsewhere in memory and thus intrude on and alter the specific memory being sought.

But we have Calvin’s record from 1973, alongside his partner Hickson’s extensive, detailed comments and on-record remarks about what happened in the 1973 incident, so what is disclosed under hypnosis can be compared to what was known (registered) in 1973, and determined to be relevant or not.

At any rate, the hypnotic sessions are iffy for me but not something particularly worrisome.

Calvin’s story is “corroborated” by new witnesses, also iffy for me, but interesting and worthy of serious investigation and scrutiny.

The Parker/Mantle books are doing well, according to Amazon, and UFOers will find much that is intriguing (and valid?) in them, as Calvin Parker and his co-author Mantle are above reproach.

(Calvin has also agreed to a movie or TV deal, in which his story will receive attention. That should prove interesting also.)

Calvin is a good ol’ boy, so if he makes some money off his “ordeal,” good for him and good for UFO lore too.)
