The Ancient Astronaut/Alien series has been running non-stop on History all weekend, anticipating its new night of fresh showings: Saturdays.
I have it on in the background, to the dismay of my associates. I like the highlighting of past people and events, and the multitude of cultural elements the series presents. It’s when the series goes over the top, off the edge, crazily indicating that everything has come about because of extraterrestrial visitors – gods from the skies – working diligently to help humans move along to better things technologically and existentially (in the common vernacular use of that term).
Today (1/25/20), History reprised the AA airing of its Leonardo da Vinci show, which recounted Leonardo’s mini-adventure in a cave, something I just noted here about Epimenides, and all the wonders created or studied by Leonardo.
Many scholars, I suspect, would put Leonardo at the top of the Human Savant list or near the top.
There’s Einstein and the Quantum Physicist boys near that list top, and a raft of other scientists – Galileo, Newton, et al. — plus philosophers like Plato, Aristotle, Maimonides, and Descartes, among many others, not to mention great cultural figures: Shakespeare, Beethoven, and others, too many to list.
My point, which came about because of the Leonardo attention that the AA show gave, is that in the history of the human race, no one – not one human being, no matter how great a thinker, leader, scientist, or other savant – has come close to explaining the pur- pose of life or its meaning – or even what kind of reality we find ourselves in.
And in the paltry UFO community, no one has come close to resolving anything that explains the perpetual and irritating phenomenon – not John Keel, Jacques Vallee, or the smartest ufologist you know.
If Leonardo were around today, or Einstein or Niels Bohr or Heisenberg et al. could they get a handle on the UFO enigma? Jung tried, and failed. Vallee hasn’t helped. And Keel descended into madness trying.
If reality itself remains unclear and still without understanding, how can we expect the simple matter of what a UFO is to be answered? Especially since there are no savants in the UFO community.
I’m not being cute about this. It’s true: There are no savants in any area where UFOs are mentioned or “studied.”
No one wants to hear this, but there it is….
