I’ve long contended that the Gnostic attribute of Evil as applied to God is a verity.

Matty, who visits here, thinks otherwise as do a few others who pass by. But they are so wrong it hurts to read their simplistic and belief-ridden nonsense about a good God.

The thought of Thomas Aquinas, pounded into me during my time at seminary with my Jesuit masters, who also accepted the goodness of God, but with reservations as those of you with Jesuit training know, takes precedent over anything Matty presents or the junk that others who’ve dealt with this issue before when I’ve presented it at this blog and elsewhere.

In Summa Theologica, Book One, Question XLIX, The Cause of Evil, the First and Second Articles, Aquinas provides the stipulations by the Philosopher [Aristotle] of God’s intrinsic Evil….the Captain of the ship metaphor, which I accept thoughtfully and wholeheartedly.

Aquinas offers counters to Aristotle’s views, even though for Aquinas Aristotle is the summa bonum of thought, otherwise.

The Thomistic counters are like the responses that academic Bryan Sentes often offers here as responses my speculations: full of sound and reasoning that is essentially fluff and flim-flam, not pertinent or attached to the point being made.

Aquinas does the same roundabout in his counter to the Philosopher’s logical and eminently sensible accusation that God can be and is the master of Evil, by the nature of God’s own being.

Trying to dissuade me from Aristotle’s view won’t work and thus I present examples of Evil that show up as acts of a sadistic nature, and support my view of God’s errant essence.

I won’t list the obvious active or passive approaches to obvious sadistic or Evil acts like the Holocaust or cancer in children et cetera, that gives away God’s inherent nature.

But let me point out such malevolence that makes me cringe and hate God, to some extent, knowing that full-out hatred will possibly accrue bad actions on His part towards me or those who come from me…..the sins of the father are visited upon his sons.

(The examples come from my contention that we live in a deterministic universe. And believers in a good God shouldn’t get upset with my strongly held views; they are products of mental inquiry not a rebuttal of God or a slant toward atheism. They are abstractions of thought.)

I’ve always been disturbed by God attempting to kill Moses [Exodus 4:24] – and don’t give me the silly rejoinders presented previously and debunked by real Biblical scholars.

Then we find God disallowing Moses to enter the promised land because Moses supposedly didn’t complete some of God’s suggestions or commands to the letter of God’s utterances. [Deuteronomy 32:51–52]

Let me stray from the Biblical references to things more contemporary, such as making the greatest musical composer – Beethoven – deaf. How more sadistic can a God or any divinity be?

(Many composers were struck down early, by death, by the mean-spirited God: Mozart, Chopin, Bizet, et al.)

Then, in our day, with the early death of a great opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky at age 55, a blow that affected me greatly confirming the nastiness of the divine being.

These may seem to be petty offenses to come of you but they are egregious acts of a bully and Evil thing.

Now we are inside an alleged pandemic, wherein innocent humans are snuffed out with alacrity and without due diligence. Why? Happenstance? Bad luck? Or Fate, the handmaiden of God’s will?

And UFOs? How do they come into the obtuse argument I’m making?

They have been inserted into the societal fringe to mock our (human) abilities to fathom mysteries, They have taken some people from progressive and useful lives into the maelstrom of riddling nonsense – the game of God that I’ve proposed often here and elsewhere.

Fortunately, the UFO community is a clod of persons whose deaths mean nothing in the great movement of civilization – as I’ve long indicated (and rebuked for) –but whose deaths or set-backs are personal and tragic in the minor closet known as ufology.

But for those of us immersed in the UFO mystery, much that I’m crowing about means little or nothing: Moses, Beethoven, Hvorostovsky, old and young dying of a weird pandemic.

But, for me, they are clues, tangible clues as to the nature of the gods (God) and fate, our reality, and a UFO explanation might (can?) explain what this existence is all about, perhaps…maybe.
