Oregon, Washington, California ON FIRE

The news isn’t good…

Gigantic fires that are covering millions of acres of land are burning like we’ve never seen before. Not in my whole life.

But it’s easier to just show you than to explain…

In my current state, Washington, the fires are mostly staying to the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range. You can see the Cold Springs/Pearl Hill fires joined up and became one huge fire the size of the peninsula I live on. The Whitney fire is now going nuts, and the Evans Canyon fire is as well. To the south of the state, the Big Hollow fire is heading towards the Girl Scout Camp where I have many memories. It may be my favorite place in the world, that area of forest and mountains.

But I count myself lucky, because that’s terrible, but it’s worse in Oregon, where the WESTERN side of the Cascade mountains are on fire and spreading towards the MAIN POPULATIONS of the state. Most people in Oregon live in the Willamette Valley from Portland down to Eugene. All those gigantic areas of flame are headed towards many, many towns and cities. Several towns have already been wiped off the map, and they’re saying that many people didn’t make it out in time. It will take a while to know the death toll.

I love the green, lush, western Cascade Mountains. It’s actually painful to know so much of it is on fire.
