It snowed at the bunker.  Finally Michigan weather for Michigan Patriots!  Love it or leave it (for Arizona or Florida…)

 Inside the Cave

 The above is not ‘The Cave’ that was the center of the Obama for America (OFA) campaign technology effort, but it looks very much like it must have (I have seen one picture that had the City of Chicago flag hanging from the ceiling of a large room full of computers and programmers).

 There is a Breitbart article that goes into more depth about the operation (Click Here).  Here are some interesting quotes from the piece:

 ”200 more technology geeks worked for digital director Teddy Goff,  bringing the number of the Obama campaign’s 1,300 headquarters employees involved in data and technology operations to 300. The Romney campaign’s staffing in this area was anemic by comparison, with barely 100 working in digital and a mere four working in analytics.”

And about the Romney campaign EDO system that failed:

 ”ORCA was a “traditional corporate IT project gone bad.”  Remarkably, the development process included “no ‘game day’ style testing.” It was “launched on Election Day with no real user testing [and] could not add capacity.”

This isn’t surprising, because the ORCA project was managed by Dan Centinello, a 28-year-old college drop out who knew little about technology and had been given the job because he had been a loyal political operative in previous campaigns and was known to Rich Beeson, the political consultant and former partner at FLS Connect who served as the Romney campaign political director. ORCA was Beeson’s brain child, dreamed up, apparently in May, 2012, a mere five months before the election.”

 It has become obvious that something has to be done about the antiquated systems available to us in the conservative movement.  The systems described in The Cave were developed by the Obama campaign and have now been moved to a re-registered 501c4 organization that is using them to drive their agenda and crush conservative resistance.

 Tea Party Effort

Several Tea Party leaders from around the state have been looking at new systems over the past year that can at least form the basis of a similar system for conservatives to use. 

 I am able to report to you that we (and many disappointed Republicans) have convinced the current Michigan Republican Party Chairman to appoint a task force to at least get the Michigan conservatives on a good technology base.  Two of us Tea Party leaders are on the task force as well as GOP county chairs, state representatives, campaign managers, MRP staffers, etc.

 The task force leader (I prefer ‘commander’) is currently in VA visiting RNC technology staff to gauge what their plans are.  Our current task is to gather specifications for a new system.

HELP!

 This is where you come in: before we can pick out or develop a new system we must know what it is we want it to be able to do.  These are the major areas:

Data collection: my dream is for each Tea Party, each county GOP to be actively collecting information on their members and area voters year-round.

Campaigns: be able to obtain up to date, usable information on the voters he/she is trying to reach.

Constituent Service: elected officials be able to use same data base to track voter concerns, needs, etc

Get Out the Vote: need a system to ensure all the voters that we need actually get to the polls on election day.

Analytical data base: provide data-base of information that can be analyzed for effective messaging, etc.

​Please send in any ideas or specifications that you can think of from “I want to use my smart phone when going door to door” to “I want to be able to poll constituents about certain issues and record that automatically in my data-base”.  Email them to [email protected] so that we can include them in our write up of specifications.

Tea Party Goal in Mind

We will be pushing hard for a system that allows you to ‘own’ your data.  That is if your Tea Party buys a license to use the system, although you will share the core data with all conservatives using the data-base, your data, purchased through your sweat and hard work, belongs to your license and no one else unless you authorize access.

When you are up to your elbows in alligators……

 Folks, there are lots of things going on that will distract us, but this is important and must be dealt with NOW in order to be ready for 2016!  The Republican Party is the logical platform to sponsor this undertaking, but if for some reason they cannot see the way to do it, be prepared to do some fund raising to support a Tea Party effort to accomplish it and convince our GOP friends to jump on the train before it leaves the station.
