Hurricane Sandy emergency relief funding for... Alaska?

In the latest bill from the Senate regarding Hurricane Sandy emergency relief funding, there are taxpayer dollars going Alaskan fisheries to the tune of 200 million. I didn’t know the storm in the mid-atlantic and the northeast affected Alaska. Also, various Senators tried to jam in funding for the country of Palau in the western pacific, for arts festivals and for a comedy group. How much more obscure can government get?

Thankfully, these earmarks did not garnish much support. Senator Paul proposed an amendment to offset 9 billion of the 60 billion the CBO forecasts will be spent on federal Sandy funding in 2013 from wasted foreign aid funds allocated to countries that hate us, burn our flags or have dictators who steal our money for thier own profits. This common sense solution is also not getting much support. I agree with the offset proposal and would go even say end all foreign aid, the wars, American imperialism and bring our troops home!
