Your Nation In Danger! – Stop Immigration Reform Now – Say ‘No” to Amnesty – DC March For Jobs July 15 2013

The Black American Leadership Alliance is a bi-partisan group of leaders serving in the interest of the black community.  We are reaching out to policy makers and the public to express our concern with the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform proposal.  It is our position that the Congressional Black Caucus and the Senate Gang of Eight must consider the effects that S.744 would have on low-skill workers, their communities and their families.

There has been much credible research indicating that black workers will suffer the greatest harm were this legislation to be passed.  It is the duty of each legislator to consider the effects that this proposed policy would have on their constituents. We are asking that Congressional leaders oppose Senate Bill S.744, because of the profound impact this bill will have on the availability of employment for African American workers.

On Monday, June 3rd, Black American Leadership Alliance issued an open letter to Congress urging them to protect American labor by rejecting Amnesty and adopting policies to decrease legal immigration. BALA March and Rally on Washington, DC:

 On July 15, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., the Black American Leadership Alliance will sponsor a march and rally to protest the Senate immigration bill to call attention to the fact that creating a pathway to citizenship for millions of aliens at a time when many Americans are out of work will serve to undermine  American jobs and incomes by flooding the US market with foreign labor.

This event will take place July 15th at 9:30 a.m. at Freedom Plaza.  Freedom Plaza is located between 13th and 14th streets, on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.  At this rally workers of all races will band together to proclaim their opposition to amnesty legislation and to emphasize that adding millions of workers to the U.S. labor pool will hurt the 22 million Americans who are already out of work or underemployed and unable to adequately support their families.
