John Cornyn of Texas submits two important bills.

WASHINGTON D.C.—Texas Senator John Cornyn has submitted two bills of importance, neither of which will pass.

Senate Joint Resolution 30 would stop enforcement of 79 Fed. Reg. 1430 (PDF) submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This unconstitutional regulation was submitted by the EPA to destroy future energy production. The rule was submitted January 8 and would require new coal electric plants to emit only 1,100 pounds of C02. New natural gas plants would only be allowed 1000 or 1,100 pounds of C02 release depending on size.

This would basically require the installation of costly and untried carbon capture and sequestration facilities (WikiPedia, Live Science).

The Resolution—which has 41 original Republican co-sponsors including the two Arizona senators and no Democrats—states:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That Congress disapproves the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to new source performance standards for emissions of carbon dioxide for new affected fossil fuel-fired electric utility generating units (published at 79 Fed. Reg. 1430 (January 8, 2014)), and such rule shall have no force or effect.

The proposed rule is still in the sixty-day public comment period. This is part of the administrations commitment to destroy energy production in the United States. Apparently, they do not want to have to televise the sun.

S. 1908, the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2014, would allow concealed carry permit holders from one State to travel through or to another State. Apparently even Illinois has added concealed carry permits becoming the last State in the union to do so.

According to Townhall, Cornyn stated in an interview on WOAI in San Antonio:

“It would allow people with a concealed handgun license in Texas to travel to other states and maintain their legal status”

The heart of the bill, even covering the twisted Supreme Court vision of the so-called Interstate Commerce Clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 of the Constitution of the United States of America) reads:

`(1) an individual who is not prohibited by Federal law
from possessing, transporting, shipping, or receiving a
firearm, and who is carrying a government-issued photographic
identification document and a valid license or permit which is
issued pursuant to the law of a State and which permits the
individual to carry a concealed firearm, may possess or carry a
concealed handgun (other than a machinegun or destructive
device) that has been shipped or transported in interstate or
foreign commerce in any State other than the State of residence
of the individual that–
“(A) has a statute that allows residents of the
State to obtain licenses or permits to carry concealed
firearms; or
“(B) does not prohibit the carrying of concealed
firearms by residents of the State for lawful purposes

This would theoretically prevent what Nevada did to Arizona. It would not, however, prevent overzealous States and County Attorneys from attacking any CCW holders for any little deviation from their rules, such as carrying a concealed weapon into a business that serves alcohol even if they are not drinking.

This legislation was attempted before and the eighteen cosponsors, excluding the two Arizona senators, will not be enough to carry it in a gun-grabbing, Democratic controlled Senate.
