SEX and SCANDALS Run Amuck in CA Congressional District 26

The June 5^th primary for California Congressional District, which covers the southern central coast and most of Ventura County, has heated up with many citizens disgusted and outraged by the amount of scandals and corruption run rampant.  One candidate, Jeffrey D. Burum, a scandal-free: USAF Academy graduate, Retired USAF Major, Cold War/Gulf War Veteran, business owner, and retired CPA (CO) (on right), has stood up, demanding vetting and transparency of all candidates. We agree!

Antonio Sabato Jr.

Antonio Sabato Jr. bust onto the scene when the actor/model spoke on behalf of President Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign.  His rise to the scene occurred so fast that the basic questions and normal vetting process may not have even taken place.  What may have been missed?

1. Pornography (2003-2005)

First reported Dec. 5^th, 2017, by the Citizens Journal in an article entitled “CA District 26 Congressional Candidate’s Movie Career More Controversial Than Thought,” (http://citizensjournal.us/ca-district-26-congressional-candidates-movie-career-controversial-thought-1/), Mr. Sabato Jr. stated, “…I have never done porn…He defined it as full frontal nudity…” We have found this statement to be false.

2. Caught Lying about Endorsements (2017-2018)

In an article reported by the Citizens Journal, Elton Gallegly, the longest serving former Congressman from the district, stated, “He had written off Mr. Sabato Jr. for lying to him in their first meeting” regarding endorsements. 3. Admitted Drug Addict

An article published on Aug. 24^th, 2017 by NewsHounds stated,

“Now, Sabáto can add ‘addiction expert’ to his resumé. But his only qualifications seem to be personal experience as an addict.”

The article cited a May Salon report stating,

“Documents obtained by TMZ show that not only is Marie — who filed for divorce from the 45-year-old actor and model — seeking total physical custody of the couple’s 6-year-old son Antonio Kalan, but claims that Sabato is currently abusing prescription benzodiazepines. 

Sabato, who is running for California’s 26th Congressional District seat as a Republican, has admitted to struggling with and overcoming dependence on drugs — including crystal meth — in the past.”

The article also cited FoxNews.com calls, “Addiction in America: Antonio Sabato Jr.’s solution” from August 23, 2017 Fox and Friends, quoting Sabato Jr.,

“I fell into the cracks. I started from talking to my doctor about getting some help to sleep on planes, then I started taking pills to sleep at night. I was very unhappy in my relationship, in my marriage at the time so I was trying to cope with that by going to sleep and forgetting about my problems. Jeffrey D. Burum stated,

“Antonio Sabato Jr. reminds me of the 1970 ‘Pet Rock.’ You can polish it up and put it in a nice box, but you still go home with a rock.  I didn’t buy it then, and I’m not buying it now.

As a life-long member of the Republican Party, it is my obligation to request Antonio Sabato Jr. suspend his campaign.  His participation as a porn-star along with admitted drug addictions is and will continue to be an embarrassment to the Republican Party.  The Hollywood and DC culture is clearly inconsistent with American family values.”

Julia Brownley

Incumbent Julia Brownley, who has served since 2012, is not without scandal either.  In Aug. 2017, The VC Star reported, Representative Brownley aided and abetted terrorists seeking American secrets when she hired the Awan Brothers for her illegal IT system while attempting to leave the country. This breach of trust costs U.S. military lives, supported Hezbollah, and promoted notorious opium trafficking in our country.

Ventura Country Deserves Better

What makes someone qualified to run for office? What is acceptable in a candidate’s past and what is not?  While the qualifications to run for U.S. House of Representatives are limited to; at least 25 years of age, a citizen for at least seven years, and a resident of the state the candidate has chosen to run in, is this enough? We the citizens of Ventura County deserve to have transparent candidates without hidden “skeletons” in the closet.  In order to have informed voting, let the scandals and monetary contributions be well known.
