Troy Rosasco Named Chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation & Social Security Disability Law Committee
Troy Rosasco, Partner, Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, LLP, has announced that he has been named as Chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation & Social Security Disability Law Committee. The committee discusses and reviews the latest legislation related to workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability regulations and benefits.
Mr. Rosasco concentrates his practice in workers’ compensation claims, Social Security Disability claims and 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund claims. He has represented more than 10,000 injured and disabled workers in his career. Since 2014, he has been named to the list of New York Metro Super Lawyers in the area of workers’ compensation.
In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor of Workers’ Compensation and Disability Law at St. John’s University School of Law, where he established the John Sciortino Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law. The scholarship is named for his late dear friend who was the Founding Partner of Segar & Sciortino and President of the New York State Injured Workers’ Bar Association.
Mr. Rosasco is a frequent lecturer to other attorneys and has presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs for the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of the City of New York, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), Lawline, the National Academy of CLE, and the Queens, Nassau County and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
Mr. Rosasco has authored over 25 articles on workers’ compensation and disability law for various legal periodicals, including the ABA General Practice Section Newsletter, the Queens Lawyer, the Nassau Lawyer and the Suffolk Lawyer. He co-authored the Legal Advisory chapter in Warren, Gorman & Lamont’s Workers’ Compensation Guide with Prof. David Gregory of St. John’s Law School.
Mr. Rosasco is a Fellow at the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, Founder of the New York Workers’ Compensation Alliance, former Executive Board Member of the New York State Injured Workers’ Bar Association, former Board Member of NOSSCR, former Director of the Nassau County Bar Association and current member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Grievance Committee.
He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations and St. John’s University School of Law. He is a member of both the New York State and New Jersey Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the federal courts of the Eastern District of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the National MS Society, Long Island Chapter and resides in St. James, where he is active in the Boy Scouts of America.
For more than a century, the Suffolk County Bar Association is one of the largest voluntary bar associations in New York State. The group and the legal profession it represents has assisted the community through charitable services, pro bono representation, scholarship programs and legal education.
